After these things I saw another angel descending out of the heaven, having great authority: and the earth was lightened with his glory.
2
And he cried with a strong voice, saying, Great Babylon has fallen, has fallen, and has become the habitation of demons, and a hold of every unclean spirit, and a hold of every unclean and hated bird;
3
because all the nations have drunk of the wine of the fury of her fornication; and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have been enriched through the might of her luxury.
4
And I heard another voice out of the heaven saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye have not fellowship in her sins, and that ye do not receive of her plagues:
5
for her sins have been heaped on one another up to the heaven, andGod has remembered her unrighteousnesses.
6
Recompense her even as she has recompensed; and double [to her] double, according to her works. In the cup which she has mixed, mix to her double.
7
So much as she has glorified herself and lived luxuriously, so much torment and grief give to her. Because she says in her heart, I sit a queen, and I am not a widow; and I shall in no wise see grief:
8
for this reason in one day shall her plagues come, death and grief and famine, and she shall be burnt with fire; for strong [is the] LordGod who has judged her.
9
And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication, and lived luxuriously with her, shall weep and wail over her, when they see the smoke of her burning,
10
standing afar off, through fear of her torment, saying, Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! for in one hour thy judgment is come.
11
And the merchants of the earth weep and grieve over her, because no one buys their lading any more;
12
lading of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and pearl, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet dye, and all thyine wood, and every article in ivory, and every article in most precious wood, and in brass, and in iron, and in marble,
13
and cinnamon, and amomum, and incense, and unguent, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and cattle, and sheep, and of horses, and of chariots, and of bodies, and souls of men.
14
And the ripe fruits which were the lust of thy soul have departed from thee, and all fair and splendid things have perished from thee, and they shall not find them any more at all.
15
The merchants of these things, who had been enriched through her, shall stand afar off through fear of her torment, weeping and grieving,
16
saying, Woe, woe, the great city, which [was] clothed with fine linen and purple and scarlet, and had ornaments of gold and precious stones and pearls!
17
for in one hour so great riches has been made desolate. And every steersman, and every one who sailed to any place, and sailors, and all who exercise their calling on the sea, stood afar off,
18
and cried, seeing the smoke of her burning, saying, What [city] is like to the great city?
19
and cast dust upon their heads, and cried, weeping and grieving, saying, Woe, woe, the great city, in which all that had ships in the sea were enriched through her costliness! for in one hour she has been made desolate.
20
Rejoice over her, heaven, and [ye] saints and apostles and prophets; forGod has judged your judgment upon her.
21
And a strong angel took up a stone, as a great millstone, and cast [it] into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall Babylon the great city be cast down, and shall be found no more at all;
22
and voice of harp-singers and musicians and flute-players and trumpeters shall not be heard any more at all in thee, and no artificer of any art shall be found any more at all in thee, and voice of millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee,
23
and light of lamp shall shine no more at all in thee, and voice of bridegroom and bride shall be heard no more at all in thee; for thy merchants were the great ones of the earth; for by thy sorcery have all the nations been deceived.
24
And in her was found [the] blood of prophets and saints, and of all the slain upon the earth.

Reddite illi sicut et ipsa reddidit vobis: et duplicate duplicia secundum opera eius: in poculo, quo miscuit, miscete illi duplum.

Quantum glorificavit se, et in deliciis fuit, tantum date illi tormentum et luctum: quia in corde suo dicit: Sedeo regina: et vidua non sum: et luctum non videbo.

Ideo in una die venient plagæ eius, mors, et luctus, et fames, et igne comburetur: quia fortis est Deus, qui iudicabit illam.

Et flebunt, et plangent se super illam reges terræ, qui cum illa fornicati sunt, et in deliciis vixerunt, cum viderint fumum incendii eius:
10
longe stantes propter timorem tormentorum eius, dicentes: Væ, væ civitas illa magna Babylon, civitas illa fortis: quoniam una hora venit iudicium tuum.

Et negotiatores terræ flebunt, et lugebunt super illam: quoniam merces eorum nemo emet amplius:
12
merces auri, et argenti, et lapidis pretiosi, et margaritæ, et byssi, et purpuræ, et serici, et cocci, (et omne lignum thyinum, et omnia vasa eboris, et omnia vasa de lapide pretioso, et æramento, et ferro, et marmore,
13
et cinnamomum) et odoramentorum, et unguenti, et thuris, et vini, et olei, et similæ, et tritici, et iumentorum, et ovium, et equorum, et rhedarum, et mancipiorum, et animarum hominum.
14
Et poma desiderii animæ tuæ discesserunt a te, et omnia pinguia, et præclara perierunt a te, et amplius illa iam non invenient.

Mercatores horum, qui divites facti sunt, ab ea longe stabunt propter timorem tormentorum eius, flentes, ac lugentes,
16
et dicentes: Væ, væ civitas illa magna, quæ amicta erat bysso, et purpura, et cocco, et deaurata erat auro, et lapide pretioso, et margaritis:
17
quoniam una hora destitutæ sunt tantæ divitiæ, et omnis gubernator, et omnis, qui in lacum navigat, et nautæ, et qui in mari operantur, longe steterunt,
18
et clamaverunt videntes locum incendii eius, dicentes: Quæ similis civitati huic magnæ?
19
Et miserunt pulverem super capita sua, et clamaverunt flentes, et lugentes, dicentes: Væ, væ civitas illa magna, in qua divites facti sunt omnes, qui habebant naves in mari de pretiis eius: quoniam una hora desolata est.
20
Exulta super eam cælum, et sancti Apostoli, et Prophetæ: quoniam iudicavit Deus iudicium vestrum de illa.
21
Et sustulit unus Angelus fortis lapidem quasi molarem magnum, et misit in mare, dicens: Hoc impetu mittetur Babylon civitas illa magna, et ultra iam non invenietur.

Et vox citharœdorum, et musicorum, et tibia canentium, et tuba non audietur in te amplius: et omnis artifex omnis artis non invenietur in te amplius: et vox molæ non audietur in te amplius:

et lux lucernæ non lucebit in te amplius: et vox sponsi, et sponsæ non audietur adhuc in te: quia mercatores tui erant principes terræ, quia in veneficiis tuis erraverunt omnes gentes.

Et in ea sanguis prophetarum et sanctorum inventus est: et omnium, qui interfecti sunt in terra.

because of the wine of the wrath of her whoredom have all the nations drunk, and the kings of the earth with her did commit whoredom, and merchants of the earth from the power of her revel were made rich.

And I heard another voice out of the heaven, saying, `Come forth out of her, My people, that ye may not partake with her sins, and that ye may not receive of her plagues,
5
because her sins did follow--unto the heaven, and God did remember her unrighteousness.
6
Render to her as also she did render to you, and double to her doubles according to her works; in the cup that she did mingle mingle to her double.
7
`As much as she did glorify herself and did revel, so much torment and sorrow give to her, because in her heart she saith, I sit a queen, and a widow I am not, and sorrow I shall not see;
8
because of this, in one day, shall come her plagues, death, and sorrow, and famine; and in fire she shall be utterly burned, because strong <FI>is<Fi> the Lord God who is judging her;
9
and weep over her, and smite themselves for her, shall the kings of the earth, who with her did commit whoredom and did revel, when they may see the smoke of her burning,
10
from afar having stood because of the fear of her torment, saying, Woe, woe, the great city! Babylon, the strong city! because in one hour did come thy judgment.

`And the merchants of the earth shall weep and sorrow over her, because their lading no one doth buy any more;
12
lading of gold, and silver, and precious stone, and pearl, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and every vessel of ivory, and every vessel of most precious wood, and brass, and iron, and marble,
13
and cinnamon, and odours, and ointment, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and cattle, and sheep, and of horses, and of chariots, and of bodies and souls of men.
14
`And the fruits of the desire of thy soul did go away from thee, and all things--the dainty and the bright--did go away from thee, and no more at all mayest thou find them.
15
The merchants of these things, who were made rich by her, far off shall stand because of the fear of her torment, weeping, and sorrowing,
16
and saying, Woe, woe, the great city, that was arrayed with fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and gilded in gold, and precious stone, and pearls--because in one hour so much riches were made waste!
17
`And every shipmaster, and all the company upon the ships, and sailors, and as many as work the sea, far off stood,
18
and were crying, seeing the smoke of her burning, saying, What <FI>city is<Fi> like to the great city?
19
and they did cast dust upon their heads, and were crying out, weeping and sorrowing, saying, Woe, woe, the great city! in which were made rich all having ships in the sea, out of her costliness--for in one hour was she made waste.
20
`Be glad over her, O heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets, because God did judge your judgment of her!'
21
And one strong messenger did take up a stone as a great millstone, and did cast <FI>it<Fi> to the sea, saying, `Thus with violence shall Babylon be cast, the great city, and may not be found any more at all;
22
and voice of harpers, and musicians, and pipers, and trumpeters, may not be heard at all in thee any more; and any artisan of any art may not be found at all in thee any more; and noise of a millstone may not be heard at all in thee any more;
23
and light of a lamp may not shine at all in thee any more; and voice of bridegroom and of bride may not be heard at all in thee any more; because thy merchants were the great ones of the earth, because in thy sorcery were all the nations led astray,
24
and in her blood of prophets and of saints was found, and of all those who have been slain on the earth.'

A long, long time ago, there was nothing at all - no earth, no sky, no animals, no people. It was all dark and empty. But God was there! God is so powerful that He can make anything just by speaking. So God said "Let there be light!" and BOOM! There was light everywhere! God saw that the light was beautiful and good. He called the light "day" and the darkness "night." This was the very first day when God started making our wonderful world!

Before anything existed - no planets, stars, or life - God decided to create the universe. The earth started out as a dark, empty place covered with water. But God's Spirit was there, ready to bring order and beauty to everything. When God spoke and said "Let there be light," light immediately appeared because God's words have incredible power. God looked at the light and was pleased with what He had made. He organized time by separating light (day) from darkness (night), creating the first 24-hour period. This shows us that God is organized and purposeful in everything He does.
