1 Paul and Silvanus and Timotheus to the assembly of Thessalonians inGod [the] Father and [the] Lord Jesus Christ. Grace to you and peace.

2 We give thanks toGod always for you all, making mention of you at our prayers,

3 remembering unceasingly your work of faith, and labour of love, and enduring constancy of hope, of our Lord Jesus Christ, before ourGod and Father;

4 knowing, brethren beloved byGod, your election.

5 For our glad tidings were not with you in word only, but also in power, and in [the] Holy Spirit, and in much assurance; even as ye know what we were among you for your sakes:

6 and ye became our imitators, and of the Lord, having accepted the word in much tribulation with joy of [the] Holy Spirit,

7 so that ye became models to all that believe in Macedonia and in Achaia:

8 for the word of the Lord sounded out from you, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place your faith which [is] towardsGod has gone abroad, so that we have no need to say anything;

9 for they themselves relate concerning us what entering in we had to you, and how ye turned toGod from idols to serve a living and trueGod,

10 and to await his Son from the heavens, whom he raised from among the dead, Jesus, our deliverer from the coming wrath.

8 A vobis enim diffamatus est sermo Domini, non solum in Macedonia, et in Achaia, sed et in omni loco fides vestra, quæ est ad Deum, profecta est, ita ut non sit nobis necesse quidquam loqui.

9 Ipsi enim de nobis annunciant qualem introitum habuerimus ad vos: et quomodo conversi estis ad Deum a simulacris, servire Deo vivo, et vero,

3 unceasingly remembering of you the work of the faith, and the labour of the love, and the endurance of the hope, of our Lord Jesus Christ, in the presence of our God and Father,

5 because our good news did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance, even as ye have known of what sort we became among you because of you,

8 for from you hath sounded forth the word of the Lord, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God did go forth, so that we have no need to say anything,

9 for they themselves concerning us do declare what entrance we had unto you, and how ye did turn unto God from the idols, to serve a living and true God,

10 and to wait for His Son from the heavens, whom He did raise out of the dead--Jesus, who is rescuing us from the anger that is coming.

A long, long time ago, there was nothing at all - no earth, no sky, no animals, no people. It was all dark and empty. But God was there! God is so powerful that He can make anything just by speaking. So God said "Let there be light!" and BOOM! There was light everywhere! God saw that the light was beautiful and good. He called the light "day" and the darkness "night." This was the very first day when God started making our wonderful world!

Explain Like I'm 10

Before anything existed - no planets, stars, or life - God decided to create the universe. The earth started out as a dark, empty place covered with water. But God's Spirit was there, ready to bring order and beauty to everything. When God spoke and said "Let there be light," light immediately appeared because God's words have incredible power. God looked at the light and was pleased with what He had made. He organized time by separating light (day) from darkness (night), creating the first 24-hour period. This shows us that God is organized and purposeful in everything He does.
