2 and what the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might
3 which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly
4 places,
5 far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
6 and he put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things to the church,
7 which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
8 And you
9 did he make alive, when ye were dead through your trespasses and sins,
10 wherein ye once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the powers of the air, of the spirit that now worketh in the sons of disobedience;
11 among whom we also all once lived in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest:—
12 but God, being rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
13 even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace have ye been saved),
14 and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly
15 places, in Christ Jesus:
16 that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus:
17 for by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves,
18 it is the gift of God;
19 not of works, that no man should glory.
20 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God afore prepared that we should walk in them.
21 Wherefore remember, that once ye, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called Circumcision, in the flesh, made by hands;
22 that ye were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

14 For he is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of enclosure,
15 having annulled the enmity in his flesh, the law of commandments in ordinances, that he might form the two in himself into one new man, making peace;
16 and might reconcile both in one body toGod by the cross, having by it slain the enmity;
17 and, coming, he has preached the glad tidings of peace to you who [were] afar off, and [the glad tidings of] peace to those [who were] nigh.
18 For through him we have both access by one Spirit to the Father.
19 So then ye are no longer strangers and foreigners, but ye are fellow-citizens of the saints, and of the household ofGod,
20 being built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the corner-stone,
21 in whom all [the] building fitted together increases to a holy temple in the Lord;
22 in whom ye also are built together for a habitation ofGod in [the] Spirit.

A long, long time ago, there was nothing at all - no earth, no sky, no animals, no people. It was all dark and empty. But God was there! God is so powerful that He can make anything just by speaking. So God said "Let there be light!" and BOOM! There was light everywhere! God saw that the light was beautiful and good. He called the light "day" and the darkness "night." This was the very first day when God started making our wonderful world!

Explain Like I'm 10

Before anything existed - no planets, stars, or life - God decided to create the universe. The earth started out as a dark, empty place covered with water. But God's Spirit was there, ready to bring order and beauty to everything. When God spoke and said "Let there be light," light immediately appeared because God's words have incredible power. God looked at the light and was pleased with what He had made. He organized time by separating light (day) from darkness (night), creating the first 24-hour period. This shows us that God is organized and purposeful in everything He does.
