Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey the lusts thereof:
2
neither present your members unto sin
3
as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves unto God, as alive from the dead, and your members
4
as instruments of righteousness unto God.
5
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under law, but under grace.
6
What then? shall we sin, because we are not under law, but under grace? God forbid.
7
Know ye not, that to whom ye present yourselves
8
as servants unto obedience, his servants ye are whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
9
But thanks be to God, that, whereas ye were servants of sin, ye became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching whereunto ye were delivered;
10
and being made free from sin, ye became servants of righteousness.
11
I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye presented your members
12
as servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity, even so now present your members
13
as servants to righteousness unto sanctification.
14
For when ye were servants of sin, ye were free in regard of righteousness.
15
What fruit then had ye at that time in the things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
16
But now being made free from sin and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto sanctification, and the end eternal life.
17
For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
18
Or are ye ignorant, brethren (for I speak to men who know the law), that the law hath dominion over a man for so long time as he liveth?
19
For the woman that hath a husband is bound by law to the husband while he liveth; but if the husband die, she is discharged from the law of the husband.
20
So then if, while the husband liveth, she be joined to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if the husband die, she is free from the law, so that she is no adulteress, though she be joined to another man.
21
Wherefore, my brethren, ye also were made dead to the law through the body of Christ; that ye should be joined to another,
22
even to him who was raised from the dead, that we might bring forth fruit unto God.
23
For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions, which were through the law, wrought in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
24
But now we have been discharged from the law, having died to that wherein we were held; so that we serve in newness of the spirit, and not in oldness of the letter.
25
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Howbeit, I had not known sin, except through the law: for I had not known coveting, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet:
26
but sin, finding occasion, wrought in me through the commandment all manner of coveting: for apart from the law sin
27
is dead.
28
And I was alive apart from the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died;
29
and the commandment, which
30
was unto life, this I found
31
to be unto death:
32
for sin, finding occasion, through the commandment beguiled me, and through it slew me.
33
So that the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and righteous, and good.
34
Did then that which is good become death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might be shown to be sin, by working death to me through that which is good;—that through the commandment sin might become exceeding sinful.
35
For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
36
For that which I do I know not: for not what I would, that do I practise; but what I hate, that I do.
37
But if what I would not, that I do, I consent unto the law that it is good.
38
So now it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwelleth in me.
39
For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me, but to do that which is good

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and of death.
3
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh,God, having sent his own Son, in likeness of flesh of sin, and for sin, has condemned sin in the flesh,
4
in order that the righteous requirement of the law should be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to flesh but according to Spirit.
5
For they that are according to flesh mind the things of the flesh; and they that are according to Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
6
For the mind of the flesh [is] death; but the mind of the Spirit life and peace.
7
Because the mind of the flesh is enmity againstGod: for it is not subject to the law ofGod; for neither indeed can it be:
8
and they that are in flesh cannot pleaseGod.
9
But ye are not in flesh but in Spirit, if indeedGod's Spirit dwell in you; but if any one has not [the] Spirit of Christ he is not of him:
10
but if Christ be in you, the body is dead on account of sin, but the Spirit life on account of righteousness.
11
But if the Spirit of him that has raised up Jesus from among [the] dead dwell in you, he that has raised up Christ from among [the] dead shall quicken your mortal bodies also on account of his Spirit which dwells in you.
12
So then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to flesh;
13
for if ye live according to flesh, ye are about to die; but if, by the Spirit, ye put to death the deeds of the body, ye shall live:
14
for as many as are led by [the] Spirit ofGod, these are sons ofGod.
15
For ye have not received a spirit of bondage again for fear, but ye have received a spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16
The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are children ofGod.
17
And if children, heirs also: heirs ofGod, and Christ's joint heirs; if indeed we suffer with [him], that we may also be glorified with [him].
18
For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy [to be compared] with the coming glory to be revealed to us.
19
For the anxious looking out of the creature expects the revelation of the sons ofGod:
20
for the creature has been made subject to vanity, not of its will, but by reason of him who has subjected [the same], in hope
21
that the creature itself also shall be set free from the bondage of corruption into the liberty of the glory of the children ofGod.
22
For we know that the whole creation groans together and travails in pain together until now.
23
And not only [that], but even we ourselves, who have the first-fruits of the Spirit, we also ourselves groan in ourselves, awaiting adoption, [that is] the redemption of our body.
24
For we have been saved in hope; but hope seen is not hope; for what any one sees, why does he also hope?
25
But if what we see not we hope, we expect in patience.
26
And in like manner the Spirit joins also its help to our weakness; for we do not know what we should pray for as is fitting, but the Spirit itself makes intercession with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27
But he who searches the hearts knows what [is] the mind of the Spirit, because he intercedes for saints according toGod.
28
But we do know that all things work together for good to those who loveGod, to those who are called according to purpose.
29
Because whom he has foreknown, he has also predestinated [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, so that he should be [the] firstborn among many brethren.
30
But whom he has predestinated, these also he has called; and whom he has called, these also he has justified; but whom he has justified, these also he has glorified.
31
What shall we then say to these things? IfGod [be] for us, who against us?
32
He who, yea, has not spared his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not also with him grant us all things?
33
Who shall bring an accusation againstGod's elect? [It is]God who justifies:
34
who is he that condemns? [It is] Christ who has died, but rather has been [also] raised up; who is also at the right hand ofGod; who also intercedes for us.
35
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? tribulation or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?
36
According as it is written, For thy sake we are put to death all the day long; we have been reckoned as sheep for slaughter.
37
But in all these things we more than conquer through him that has loved us.
38
For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
39
nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love ofGod, which [is] in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Ergo fratres debitores sumus non carni, ut secundum carnem vivamus.

Si enim secundum carnem vixeritis, moriemini: si autem spiritu facta carnis mortificaveritis, vivetis.

Quicumque enim spiritu Dei aguntur, ii sunt filii Dei.

Non enim accepistis spiritum servitutis iterum in timore, sed accepistis spiritum adoptionis filiorum, in quo clamamus: Abba (Pater).
16
Ipse enim Spiritus testimonium reddit spiritui nostro quod sumus filii Dei.
17
Si autem filii, et heredes: heredes quidem Dei, cohæredes autem Christi: si tamen compatimur, ut et conglorificemur.

Existimo enim quod non sunt condignæ passiones huius temporis ad futuram gloriam, quæ revelabitur in nobis.

Nam expectatio creaturæ, revelationem filiorum Dei expectat.
20
Vanitati enim creatura subiecta est non volens, sed propter eum, qui subiecit eam in spe:

quia et ipsa creatura liberabitur a servitute corruptionis in libertatem gloriæ filiorum Dei.

Scimus enim quod omnis creatura ingemiscit, et parturit usque adhuc.

Non solum autem illa, sed et nos ipsi primitias spiritus habentes: et ipsi intra nos gemimus adoptionem filiorum Dei expectantes, redemptionem corporis nostri.

Spe enim salvi facti sumus. Spes autem, quæ videtur, non est spes: nam quod videt quis, quid sperat?
25
Si autem quod non videmus, speramus: per patientiam expectamus.

Similiter autem et Spiritus adiuvat infirmitatem nostram: nam quid oremus, sicut oportet, nescimus: sed ipse Spiritus postulat pro nobis gemitibus inenarrabilibus.

Qui autem scrutatur corda, scit quid desideret Spiritus: quia secundum Deum postulat pro sanctis.
28
Scimus autem quoniam diligentibus Deum omnia cooperantur in bonum, iis, qui secundum propositum vocati sunt sancti.
29
Nam quos præscivit, et prædestinavit conformes fieri imaginis Filii sui, ut sit ipse primogenitus in multis fratribus.
30
Quos autem prædestinavit, hos et vocavit: et quos vocavit, hos et iustificavit: quos autem iustificavit, illos et glorificavit.
31
Quid ergo dicemus ad hæc? si Deus pro nobis, qui contra nos?
32
Qui etiam proprio Filio suo non pepercit, sed pro nobis omnibus tradidit illum: quo modo non etiam cum illo omnia nobis donavit?
33
Quis accusabit adversus electos Dei? Deus qui iustificat,
34
quis est qui condemnet? Christus Iesus, qui mortuus est, immo qui et resurrexit, qui est ad dexteram Dei, qui etiam interpellat pro nobis.
35
Quis ergo nos separabit a charitate Christi? tribulatio? an angustia? an fames? an nuditas? an periculum? an persecutio? an gladius?
36

Sed in his omnibus superamus propter eum, qui dilexit nos.

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.

For what the law couldn’t do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,
4
that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
5
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
6
For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;
7
because the mind of the flesh is hostile toward God, for it is not subject to God’s law, neither indeed can it be.
8
Those who are in the flesh can’t please God.
9
But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.
10
If Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness.
11
But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
12

For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God.

For you didn’t receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”

The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God;
17
and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us.

For the creation waits with eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.

For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but because of him who subjected it, in hope

Even as it is written, “For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

καθως γεγραπται οτι ενεκεν σου θανατουμεθα ολην την ημεραν ελογισθημεν ως προβατα σφαγης

αλλ εν τουτοις πασιν υπερνικωμεν δια του αγαπησαντος ημας

πεπεισμαι γαρ οτι ουτε θανατος ουτε ζωη ουτε αγγελοι ουτε αρχαι ουτε ενεστωτα ουτε μελλοντα ουτε δυναμεις

ουτε υψωμα ουτε βαθος ουτε τις κτισις ετερα δυνησεται ημας χωρισαι απο της αγαπης του θεου της εν χριστω ιησου τω κυριω ημων
