or sojourner with thee, or to the stock of the stranger’s family;
2
after that he is sold he may be redeemed: one of his brethren may redeem him;
3
or his uncle, or his uncle’s son, may redeem him, or any that is nigh of kin unto him of his family may redeem him; or if he be waxed rich, he may redeem himself.
4
And he shall reckon with him that bought him from the year that he sold himself to him unto the year of jubilee: and the price of his sale shall be according unto the number of years; according to the time of a hired servant shall he be with him.
5
If there be yet many years, according unto them he shall give back the price of his redemption out of the money that he was bought for.
6
And if there remain but few years unto the year of jubilee, then he shall reckon with him; according unto his years shall he give back the price of his redemption.
7
As a servant hired year by year shall he be with him: he shall not rule with rigor over him in thy sight.
8
And if he be not redeemed by these
9
means, then he shall go out in the year of jubilee, he, and his children with him.
10
For unto me the children of Israel are servants; they are my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: I am Jehovah your God.
11
Ye shall make you no idols, neither shall ye rear you up a graven image, or a pillar, neither shall ye place any figured stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am Jehovah your God.
12
Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am Jehovah.
13
If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;
14
then I will give your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
15
And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time; and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.
16
And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will cause evil beasts to cease out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
17
And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.
18
And five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase ten thousand; and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.
19
And I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and will establish my covenant with you.
20
And ye shall eat old store long kept, and ye shall bring forth the old because of the new.
21
And I will set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you.
22
And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.
23
I am Jehovah your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bars of your yoke, and made you go upright.
24
But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments;
25
and if ye shall reject my statutes, and if your soul abhor mine ordinances, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but break my covenant;
26
I also will do this unto you: I will appoint terror over you, even consumption and fever, that shall consume the eyes, and make the soul to pine away; and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.
27
And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be smitten before your enemies: they that hate you shall rule over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.
28
And if ye will not yet for these things hearken unto me, then I will chastise you seven times more for your sins.
29
And I will break the pride of your power: and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass;
30
and your strength shall be spent in vain; for your land shall not yield its increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruit.
31
And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me, I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.
32
And I will send the beast of the field among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your ways shall become desolate.
33
And if by these things ye will not be reformed unto me, but will walk contrary unto me;
34
then will I also walk contrary unto you; and I will smite you, even I, seven times for your sins.

1
And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
2
Speak unto the children of Israel and say unto them, When any one devoteth [anything] by a vow, the persons shall be for Jehovah according to thy valuation.
3
And thy valuation shall be of the male from twenty years old even unto sixty years old: thy valuation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary;
4
and if it be of a female, thy valuation shall be thirty shekels.
5
And if it be from five years old even unto twenty years old, thy valuation of the male shall be twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels.
6
And if it be from a month old even unto five years old, thy valuation of the male shall be five shekels of silver; and for the female thy valuation shall be three shekels of silver.
7
And if it be from sixty years old and above, if it be a male, thy valuation shall be fifteen shekels; and for the female ten shekels.
8
And if he be poorer than thy valuation, he shall present himself before the priest, and the priest shall value him: according to his means that vowed shall the priest value him.
9
And if it be a beast whereof men bring an offering unto Jehovah, all that they give of such unto Jehovah shall be holy.
10
They shall not alter it nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good; and if he at all change beast for beast, then it and the exchange thereof shall be holy.
11
And if it be any unclean beast, of which they do not bring an offering unto Jehovah, then he shall present the beast before the priest;
12
and the priest shall value it, [judging] between good and bad: according to the valuation of the priest, so shall it be.
13
And if they will in any wise redeem it, then they shall add a fifth [part] thereof unto thy valuation.
14
And when any one halloweth his house, that it may be holy to Jehovah, the priest shall value it, [judging] between good and bad: as the priest shall value it, so shall it stand.
15
And if he that halloweth it will redeem his house, he shall add the fifth of the money of thy valuation unto it, and it shall be his.
16
And if a man hallow to Jehovah [part] of a field of his possession, thy valuation shall be according to what may be sown in it: the homer of barley seed at fifty shekels of silver.
17
If he hallow his field from the year of jubilee, according to thy valuation shall it stand;
18
but if he hallow his field after the jubilee, then the priest shall reckon unto him the money according to the years that remain, until the year of the jubilee; and there shall be a reduction from thy valuation.
19
And if he that hallowed the field will in any wise redeem it, he shall add the fifth of the money of thy valuation unto it, and it shall be assured to him;
20
but if he do not redeem the field, or if he sell the field to another man, it cannot be redeemed any more;
21
and the field, when it goeth out in the jubilee, shall be holy to Jehovah, as a field devoted; the possession thereof shall be the priest's.
22
And if he hallow to Jehovah a field that he hath bought, which is not of the fields of his possession,
23
the priest shall reckon unto him the amount of thy valuation, unto the year of the jubilee; and he shall give thy valuation on that day, [as] holy to Jehovah.
24
In the year of the jubilee the field shall return unto him of whom it was bought — to him to whom the land belonged.
25
And all thy valuation shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs shall be the shekel.
26
Only the firstling which is offered as firstling to Jehovah among the cattle, that shall no man hallow, whether it be ox or sheep; it is Jehovah's.
27
But if it be of an unclean beast, then he shall ransom it according to thy valuation, and shall add a fifth of it thereto; and if it be not redeemed, it shall be sold according to thy valuation.
28
Notwithstanding, no devoted thing that a man hath devoted to Jehovah of all that he hath, of man or beast, or of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy to Jehovah.
29
Nothing devoted, which shall be devoted from among men, shall be ransomed: it shall certainly be put to death.
30
And as to every tithe of the land, of the seed of the land, and of the fruit of the tree, it is Jehovah's: it is holy to Jehovah.
31
And if any one will at all redeem of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth thereof.
32
And as to every tithe of the herd, or of the flock, of whatever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy to Jehovah.
33
He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it; and if he change it at all, then both it and the exchange thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.

1
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
2
Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them, Whosoever shall vow a vow as the valuation of his soul for the Lord,
3
the valuation of a male from twenty years old to sixty years old shall be—his valuation shall be fifty didrachms of silver by the standard of the sanctuary.
4
And the valuation of a female shall be thirty didrachms.
5
And if it be from five years old to twenty, the valuation of a male shall be twenty didrachms, and of a female ten didrachms.
6
And from a month old to five years old, the valuation of a male shall be five didrachms, and of a female, three didrachms of silver.
7
And if from sixty years [old] and upward, if it be a male, his valuation shall be fifteen didrachms of silver, and if a female, ten didrachms.
8
And if the man be too poor for the valuation, he shall stand before the priest; and the priest shall value him: according to what the man who has vowed can afford, the priest shall value him.
9
And if it be from the cattle that are offered as a gift to the Lord, whoever shall offer one of these to the Lord, it shall be holy.
10
He shall not change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good; and if he do at all change it, a beast for a beast, it and the substitute shall be holy.
11
And if it be any unclean beast, of which none are offered as a gift to the Lord, he shall set the beast before the priest.
12
And the priest shall make a valuation between the good and the bad, and accordingly as the priest shall value it, so shall it stand.
13
And if [the worshipper] will at all redeem it, he shall add the fifth part to its value.
14
And whatsoever man shall consecrate his house as holy to the Lord, the priest shall make a valuation of it between the good and the bad: as the priest shall value it, so shall it stand.
15
And if he that has sanctified it should redeem his house, he shall add to it the fifth part of the money of the valuation, and it shall be his.
16
And if a man should hallow to the Lord a part of the field of his possession, then the valuation shall be according to its seed, fifty didrachms of silver for a homer of barley.
17
And if he should sanctify his field from the year of release, it shall stand according to his valuation.
18
And if he should sanctify his field in the latter time after the release, the priest shall reckon to him the money for the remaining years, until the [next] year of release, and it shall be deducted as an equivalent from his full valuation.
19
And if he that sanctified the field would redeem it, he shall add to its value the fifth part of the money, and it shall be his.
20
And if he do not redeem the field, but should sell the field to another man, he shall not after redeem it.
21
But the field shall be holy to the Lord after the release, as separated land; the priest shall have possession of it.
22
And if he should consecrate to the Lord of a field which he has bought, which is not of the field of his possession,
23
the priest shall reckon to him the full valuation from the year of release, and he shall pay the valuation in that day [as] holy to the Lord.
24
And in the year of release the land shall be restored to the man of whom the other bought it, whose the possession of the land was.
25
And every valuation shall be by holy weights: the didrachm shall be twenty oboli.
26
And every first-born which shall be produced among thy cattle shall be the Lord's, and no man shall sanctify it: whether calf or sheep, it is the Lord's.
27
But if he should redeem an unclean beast, according to its valuation, then he shall add the fifth part to it, and it shall be his; and if he redeem it not, it shall be sold according to its valuation.
28
And every dedicated thing which a man shall dedicate to the Lord of all that he has, whether man or beast, or of the field of his possession, he shall not sell it, nor redeem it: every devoted thing shall be most holy to the Lord.
29
And whatever shall be dedicated of men, shall not be ransomed, but shall be surely put to death.
30
Every tithe of the land, both of the seed of the land, and of the fruit of trees, is the Lord's, holy to the Lord.
31
And if a man should at all redeem his tithe, he shall add the fifth part to it, and it shall be his.
32
And every tithe of oxen, and of sheep, and whatsoever may come in numbering under the rod, the tenth shall be holy to the Lord.
33
Thou shalt not change a good for a bad, or a bad for a good; and if thou shouldest at all change it, its equivalent also shall be holy, it shall not be redeemed.

Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens:
2
