1
Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because ye are turbulent more than the nations that are round about you, and have not walked in my statutes, neither have kept mine ordinances, neither have done after the ordinances of the nations that are round about you;
2
therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I, even I, am against thee; and I will execute judgments in the midst of thee in the sight of the nations.
3
And I will do in thee that which I have not done, and whereunto I will not do any more the like, because of all thine abominations.
4
Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons in the midst of thee, and the sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute judgments on thee; and the whole remnant of thee will I scatter unto all the winds.
5
Wherefore, as I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, surely, because thou hast defiled my sanctuary with all thy detestable things, and with all thine abominations, therefore will I also diminish
6
thee; neither shall mine eye spare, and I also will have no pity.
7
A third part of thee shall die with the pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in the midst of thee; and a third part shall fall by the sword round about thee; and a third part I will scatter unto all the winds, and will draw out a sword after them.
8
Thus shall mine anger be accomplished, and I will cause my wrath toward them to rest, and I shall be comforted: and they shall know that I, Jehovah, have spoken in my zeal, when I have accomplished my wrath upon them.
9
Moreover I will make thee a desolation and a reproach among the nations that are round about thee, in the sight of all that pass by.
10
So it shall be a reproach and a taunt, an instruction and an astonishment, unto the nations that are round about thee, when I shall execute judgments on thee in anger and in wrath, and in wrathful rebukes (I, Jehovah, have spoken it);
11
when I shall send upon them the evil arrows of famine, that are for destruction, which I will send to destroy you. And I will increase the famine upon you, and will break your staff of bread;
12
and I will send upon you famine and evil beasts, and they shall bereave thee; and pestilence and blood shall pass through thee; and I will bring the sword upon thee: I, Jehovah, have spoken it.
13
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
14
Son of man, set thy face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy unto them,
darby (darby) - eBible.org Darby 1890 plaintext
1
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
2
Son of man, set thy face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them,
3
and say, Mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Jehovah: thus saith the Lord Jehovah to the mountains and to the hills, to the water-courses and to the valleys: Behold, I, [even] I, do bring a sword upon you, and will destroy your high places.
4
And your altars shall be desolate, and your sun-images shall be broken; and I will cast down your slain [men] before your idols;
5
and I will lay the dead bodies of the children of Israel before their idols; and I will scatter your bones round about your altars.
6
In all your dwelling-places the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be desolate; that your altars may be laid waste and made desolate, and your idols may be broken and cease, and your sun-images may be cut down, and your works may be abolished.
7
And the slain shall fall in the midst of you, and ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah.
8
Yet will I leave a remnant, in that ye shall have some escaped from the sword among the nations, when ye shall be scattered through the countries.
9
And they that escape of you shall remember me among the nations whither they have been carried captives, when I shall have broken their whorish heart, which hath departed from me, and their eyes, which go a whoring after their idols; and they shall loathe themselves for the evils which they have committed, in all their abominations.
10
And they shall know that I [am] Jehovah: I have not said in vain that I would do this evil unto them.
11
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Smite with thy hand, and stamp with thy foot, and say, Alas for all the abominations of the iniquities of the house of Israel! for they shall fall by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence.
12
He that is far off shall die of the pestilence; and he that is near shall fall by the sword; and he that is left, and is besieged, shall die by the famine: and I will accomplish my fury upon them.
13
And ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah, when their slain shall be among their idols, round about their altars, upon every high hill, on all the tops of the mountains, and under every green tree, and under every thick terebinth, the places where they offered sweet savour to all their idols.
14
And I will stretch out my hand upon them, and make the land desolate, yea, more desolate than the wilderness of Diblath, in all their dwellings; and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah.

1
Et factus est sermo Domini ad me, dicens:
2
Fili hominis pone faciem tuam ad montes Israel, et prophetabis ad eos,
3
et dices: Montes Israel audite verbum Domini Dei: Hæc dicit Dominus Deus montibus, et collibus, rupibus, et vallibus: Ecce ego inducam super vos gladium, et disperdam excelsa vestra,
4
et demoliar aras vestras, et confringentur simulachra vestra: et deiiciam interfectos vestros ante idola vestra.
5
Et dabo cadavera filiorum Israel ante faciem simulachrorum vestrorum: et dispergam ossa vestra circum aras vestras
6
in omnibus habitationibus vestris. Urbes desertæ erunt, et excelsa demolientur, et dissipabuntur: et interibunt aræ vestræ, et confringentur: et cessabunt idola vestra, et conterentur delubra vestra, et delebuntur opera vestra.
7
Et cadet interfectus in medio vestri: et scietis quia ego sum Dominus.
8
Et relinquam in vobis eos, qui fugerint gladium in Gentibus, cum dispersero vos in terris.
9
Et recordabuntur mei liberati vestri in Gentibus, ad quas captivi ducti sunt: quia contrivi cor eorum fornicans, et recedens a me; et oculos eorum fornicantes post idola sua: et displicebunt sibimet super malis quæ fecerunt in universis abominationibus suis.
10
13
Et scietis quia ego Dominus, cum fuerint interfecti vestri in medio idolorum vestrorum in circuitu ararum vestrarum, in omni colle excelso, et in cunctis summitatibus montium, et subtus omne lignum nemorosum, et subtus universam quercum frondosam, locum ubi accenderunt thura redolentia universis idolis suis.
14
Et extendam manum meam super eos: et faciam terram desolatam, et destitutam a deserto Deblatha in omnibus habitationibus eorum: et scient quia ego Dominus.

And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying:
2
`Son of man, set thy face unto mountains of Israel, and prophesy concerning them:
3
And thou hast said: Mountains of Israel, Hear ye a word of the Lord Jehovah: Thus said the Lord Jehovah To the mountains, and to the hills, To the streams, and to the valleys, Lo, I, I am bringing in against you a sword, And I have destroyed your high places.
4
And desolated have been your altars, And broken your images, And I have caused your wounded to fall before your idols,
5
And put the carcases of the sons of Israel before their idols, And scattered your bones round about your altars.
6
In all your dwellings the cities are laid waste, And the high places are desolate, So that waste and desolate are your altars, And broken and ceased have your idols, And cut down have been your images, And blotted out have been your works.
7
And fallen hath the wounded in your midst, And ye have known that I <FI>am<Fi> Jehovah.
8
And I have caused <FI>some<Fi> to remain, In their being to you the escaped of the sword among nations, In your being scattered through lands.
9
And remembered Me have your escaped among nations, Whither they have been taken captive, Because I have been broken with their heart that is going a-whoring, That hath turned aside from off Me, And with their eyes they are going a-whoring after their idols, And they have been loathsome in their own faces, For the evils that they have done--all their abominations.
10
And they have known that I <FI>am<Fi> Jehovah, Not for nought have I spoken to do to them this evil.
11
Thus said the Lord Jehovah: `Smite with thy palm, and stamp with thy foot, And say: Alas, for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel, Who by sword, by famine, and by pestilence do fall.
12
The far-off by pestilence dieth, And the near by sword falleth, And the left and the besieged by famine dieth, And I have completed my fury upon them.
13
And ye have known that I <FI>am<Fi> Jehovah, In their wounded being in the midst of their idols, Round about their altars, On every high hill, on all tops of mountains, And under every green tree, and under every thick oak, The place where they gave sweet fragrance to all their idols.
14
And I have stretched out my hand against them, And have made the land a desolation, Even a desolation from the wilderness to Diblath, In all their dwellings, And they have known that I <FI>am<Fi> Jehovah!'
