So I spake unto the people in the morning; and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.
2
And the people said unto me, Wilt thou not tell us what these things are to us, that thou doest so?
3
Then I said unto them, The word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
4
Speak unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pitieth; and your sons and your daughters whom ye have left behind shall fall by the sword.
5
And ye shall do as I have done: ye shall not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of men.
6
And your tires shall be upon your heads, and your shoes upon your feet: ye shall not mourn nor weep; but ye shall pine away in your iniquities, and moan one toward another.
7
Thus shall Ezekiel be unto you a sign; according to all that he hath done shall ye do: when this cometh, then shall ye know that I am the Lord Jehovah.
8
And thou, son of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their heart, their sons and their daughters,
9
that in that day he that escapeth shall come unto thee, to cause thee to hear it with thine ears?
10
In that day shall thy mouth be opened to him that is escaped, and thou shalt speak, and be no more dumb: so shalt thou be a sign unto them; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.
11
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
12
Son of man, set thy face toward the children of Ammon, and prophesy against them:
13
and say unto the children of Ammon, Hear the word of the Lord Jehovah: Thus saith the Lord Jehovah, Because thou saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was made desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity:
14
therefore, behold, I will deliver thee to the children of the east for a possession, and they shall set their encampments in thee, and make their dwellings in thee; they shall eat thy fruit, and they shall drink thy milk.
15
And I will make Rabbah a stable for camels, and the children of Ammon a couching-place for flocks: and ye shall know that I am Jehovah.
16
For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thou hast clapped thy hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced with all the despite of thy soul against the land of Israel;
17
therefore, behold, I have stretched out my hand upon thee, and will deliver thee for a spoil to the nations; and I will cut thee off from the peoples, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries: I will destroy thee; and thou shalt know that I am Jehovah.
18
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because that Moab and Seir do say, Behold, the house of Judah is like unto all the nations;
19
therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on his frontiers, the glory of the country, Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim,
20
unto the children of the east,
21
to go against the children of Ammon; and I will give them for a possession, that the children of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations:
22
and I will execute judgments upon Moab; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.
23
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because that Edom hath dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and hath greatly offended, and revenged himself upon them;
24
therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah, I will stretch out my hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; even unto Dedan shall they fall by the sword.
25
And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people Israel; and they shall do in Edom according to mine anger and according to my wrath; and they shall know my vengeance, saith the Lord Jehovah.
26
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with despite of soul to destroy with perpetual enmity;

And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
2
Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyre, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thy heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am agod, I sit [in] the seat ofGod, in the heart of the seas, (and thou art a man, and notGod,) and thou settest thy heart as the heart ofGod:
3
behold, thou art wiser than Daniel! nothing secret is obscure for thee;
4
by thy wisdom and by thine understanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures;
5
by thy great wisdom thou hast by thy traffic increased thy riches, and thy heart is lifted up because of thy riches.
6
Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thou hast set thy heart as the heart ofGod,
7
therefore behold, I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations; and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall tarnish thy brightness.
8
They shall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of those that are slain in the heart of the seas.
9
Wilt thou then say before him that slayeth thee, I amGod? but thou shalt be a man, and notGod, in the hand of him that pierceth thee.
10
Thou shalt die the deaths of the uncircumcised, by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken [it], saith the Lord Jehovah.
11
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
12
Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyre, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Thou, who sealest up the measure of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty,
13
thou wast in Eden, the garden ofGod. Every precious stone was thy covering: the sardius, the topaz, and the diamond, the chrysolite, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the carbuncle, and the emerald, and gold. The workmanship of thy tambours and of thy pipes was in thee: in the day that thou wast created were they prepared.
14
Thou wast the anointed covering cherub, and I had set thee [so]: thou wast upon the holy mountain ofGod; thou didst walk up and down in the midst of stones of fire.
15
Thou wast perfect in thy ways, from the day that thou wast created, till unrighteousness was found in thee.
16
By the abundance of thy traffic they filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned; therefore have I cast thee as profane from the mountain ofGod, and have destroyed thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
17
Thy heart was lifted up because of thy beauty; thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I have cast thee to the ground, I have laid thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
18
By the multitude of thine iniquities, by the unrighteousness of thy traffic, thou hast profaned thy sanctuaries: and I have brought forth a fire out of the midst of thee — it hath consumed thee; and I have brought thee to ashes upon the earth, in the sight of all them that behold thee.
19
All they that know thee among the peoples shall be amazed at thee: thou art become a terror, and thou shalt never be any more.
20
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
21
Son of man, set thy face towards Zidon, and prophesy against it,
22
and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, Zidon, and I will be glorified in the midst of thee; and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be hallowed in her.
23
And I will send into her the pestilence, and blood in her streets; and the wounded shall fall in the midst of her, by the sword upon her on every side: and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah.
24
And there shall be no more a wounding sting for the house of Israel, nor any grieving thorn, among all that were round about them, that despised them: and they shall know that I [am] the Lord Jehovah.
25
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and shall be hallowed in them in the sight of the nations, then shall they dwell in their land which I have given to my servant Jacob.
26
They shall dwell in it in safety, and shall build houses and plant vineyards; and they shall dwell in safety, when I have executed judgments upon all those that despised them round about them: and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah theirGod.

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
2
And thou, son of man, say to the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord; Because thine heart has been exalted, and thou hast said, I am God, I have inhabited the dwelling of God in the heart of the sea; yet thou art man and not God, though thou hast set thine heart as the heart of God:
3
art thou wiser than Daniel? or have not the wise instructed thee with their knowledge?
4
Hast thou gained power for thyself by thine [own] knowledge or thine [own] prudence, and [gotten] gold and silver in thy treasures?
5
By thy abundant knowledge and thy traffic thou hast multiplied thy power; thy heart has been lifted up by thy power.
6
Therefore thus saith the Lord; Since thou hast set thine heart as the heart of God;
7
because of this, behold, I [will] bring on thee strange plagues from the nations; and they shall draw their swords against thee, and against the beauty of thy knowledge,
8
and they shall bring down thy beauty to destruction. And they shall bring thee down; and thou shalt die the death of the slain in the heart of the sea.
9
Wilt thou indeed say, I am God, before them that slay thee? whereas thou art man, and not God.
10
Thou shalt perish by the hands of strangers among the multitude of the uncircumcised: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord.
11
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
12
Son of man, take up a lamentation for the prince of Tyre, and say to him, Thus saith the Lord God; Thou art a seal of resemblance, and crown of beauty.
13
Thou wast in the delight of the paradise of God; thou hast bound upon thee every precious stone, the sardius, and topaz, and emerald, and carbuncle, and sapphire, and jasper, and silver, and gold, and ligure, and agate, and amethyst, and chrysolite, and beryl, and onyx: and thou hast filled thy treasures and thy stores in thee with gold.
14
From the day that thou wast created thou [wast] with the cherub: I set thee on the holy mount of God; thou wast in the midst of the stones of fire.
15
Thou wast faultless in thy days, from the day that thou wast created, until iniquity was found in thee.
16
Of the abundance of thy merchandise thou hast filled thy storehouses with iniquity, and hast sinned: therefore thou hast been cast down wounded from the mount of God, and the cherub has brought thee out of the midst of the stones of fire.
17
Thy heart has been lifted up because of thy beauty; thy knowledge has been corrupted with thy beauty: because of the multitude of thy sins I have cast thee to the ground, I have caused thee to be put to open shame before kings.
18
Because of the multitude of thy sins and the iniquities of thy merchandise, I have profaned thy sacred things; and I will bring fire out of the midst of thee, this shall devour thee; and I will make thee [to be] ashes upon thy land before all that see thee.
19
And all that know thee among the nations shall groan over thee: thou art gone to destruction, and thou shalt not exist any more.
20
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
21
Son of man, set thy face against Sidon, and prophesy against it,
22
and say, Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I am against thee, O Sidon; and I will be glorified in thee; and thou shalt know that I am the Lord, when I have wrought judgments in thee, and I will be sanctified in thee.
23
Blood and death [shall be] in thy streets; and [men] wounded with swords shall fall in thee and on every side of thee; and they shall know that I am the Lord.
24
And there shall no more be in the house of Israel a thorn of bitterness and a pricking briar proceeding from them that are round about them, who dishonoured them; and they shall know that I am the Lord.
25
Thus saith the Lord God; I will also gather Israel from the nations, among whom they have been scattered, and I will be sanctified among them, and before the peoples and nations: and they shall dwell upon their land, which I gave to my servant Jacob.
26
Yea, they shall dwell upon it safely, and they shall build houses, and plant vineyards, and dwell securely, when I shall execute judgment on all that have dishonoured them, [even] on those [that are] round about them; and they shall know that I am the Lord their God, and the God of their fathers.

3
Ecce sapientior es tu Daniele: omne secretum non est absconditum a te.
4
In sapientia et prudentia tua fecisti tibi fortitudinem: et acquisisti aurum, et argentum in thesauris tuis.
5
In multitudine sapientiæ tuæ, et in negotiatione tua multiplicasti tibi fortitudinem: et elevatum est cor tuum in robore tuo.
6
Propterea hæc dicit Dominus Deus: Eo quod elevatum est cor tuum quasi cor Dei:
7
idcirco ecce ego adducam super te alienos robustissimos Gentium: et nudabunt gladios suos super pulchritudinem sapientiæ tuæ, et polluent decorem tuum.
8
Interficient, et detrahent te: et morieris in interitu occisorum in corde maris.
9
10
Morte incircumcisorum morieris in manu alienorum: quia ego locutus sum, ait Dominus Deus.
11
14
Tu cherub extentus, et protegens, et posui te in monte sancto Dei, in medio lapidum ignitorum ambulasti.
15
Perfectus in viis tuis a die conditionis tuæ, donec inventa est iniquitas in te.
16
17
Et elevatum est cor tuum in decore tuo: perdidisti sapientiam tuam in decore tuo, in terram proieci te: ante faciem regum dedi te ut cernerent te.
18
In multitudine iniquitatum tuarum, et iniquitate negotiationis tuæ polluisti sanctificationem tuam: producam ergo ignem de medio tui, qui comedat te, et dabo te in cinerem super terram in conspectu omnium videntium te.
19

The LORD’s word came again to me, saying,
2
“Son of man, tell the prince of Tyre, ‘The Lord GOD says: “Because your heart is lifted up, and you have said, ‘I am a god, I sit in the seat of God, in the middle of the seas;’ yet you are man, and no god, though you set your heart as the heart of a god—
3
behold, you are wiser than Daniel. There is no secret that is hidden from you.
4
By your wisdom and by your understanding you have gotten yourself riches, and have gotten gold and silver into your treasuries.
5
By your great wisdom and by your trading you have increased your riches, and your heart is lifted up because of your riches—”
6
“‘therefore the Lord GOD says: “Because you have set your heart as the heart of God,
7
therefore, behold, I will bring strangers on you, the terrible of the nations. They will draw their swords against the beauty of your wisdom. They will defile your brightness.
8
They will bring you down to the pit. You will die the death of those who are slain in the heart of the seas.
9
Will you yet say before him who kills you, ‘I am God’? But you are man, and not God, in the hand of him who wounds you.
10
You will die the death of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers; for I have spoken it,” says the Lord GOD.’”
11
Moreover the LORD’s word came to me, saying,
12
“Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre, and tell him, ‘The Lord GOD says: “You were the seal of full measure, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
13
You were in Eden, the garden of God. Every precious stone adorned you: ruby, topaz, emerald, chrysolite, onyx, jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and beryl. Gold work of tambourines and of pipes was in you. They were prepared in the day that you were created.
14
You were the anointed cherub who covers. Then I set you up on the holy mountain of God. You have walked up and down in the middle of the stones of fire.
15
You were perfect in your ways from the day that you were created, until unrighteousness was found in you.
16
By the abundance of your commerce, your insides were filled with violence, and you have sinned. Therefore I have cast you as profane out of God’s mountain. I have destroyed you, covering cherub, from the middle of the stones of fire.
17
Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty. You have corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor. I have cast you to the ground. I have laid you before kings, that they may see you.
18
By the multitude of your iniquities, in the unrighteousness of your commerce, you have profaned your sanctuaries. Therefore I have brought out a fire from the middle of you. It has devoured you. I have turned you to ashes on the earth in the sight of all those who see you.
19
All those who know you among the peoples will be astonished at you. You have become a terror, and you will exist no more.”’”
20
The LORD’s word came to me, saying,
21
“Son of man, set your face toward Sidon, and prophesy against it,
22
and say, ‘The Lord GOD says: “Behold, I am against you, Sidon. I will be glorified among you. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I have executed judgments in her, and am sanctified in her.
23
For I will send pestilence into her, and blood into her streets. The wounded will fall within her, with the sword on her on every side. Then they will know that I am the LORD.
24
“‘“There will no longer be a pricking brier to the house of Israel, nor a hurting thorn of any that are around them that scorned them. Then they will know that I am the Lord GOD.”
25
“‘The Lord GOD says: “When I have gathered the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and am shown as holy among them in the sight of the nations, then they will dwell in their own land which I gave to my servant Jacob.
26
They will dwell in it securely. Yes, they will build houses, plant vineyards, and will dwell securely when I have executed judgments on all those around them who have treated them with contempt. Then they will know that I am the LORD their God.”’”

And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying:
2
`Son of man, say to the leader of Tyre: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because thy heart hath been high, And thou dost say: A god I <FI>am<Fi> , The habitation of God I have inhabited, In the heart of the seas, And thou <FI>art<Fi> man, and not God, And thou givest out thy heart as the heart of God,
3
Lo, thou <FI>art<Fi> wiser than Daniel, No hidden thing have they concealed from thee.
4
By thy wisdom and by thine understanding Thou hast made for thee wealth, And makest gold and silver in thy treasuries.
5
By the abundance of thy wisdom, Through thy merchandise, Thou hast multiplied thy wealth, And high is thy heart through thy wealth.
6
Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because of thy giving out thy heart as the heart of God,
7
Therefore, lo, I am bringing in against thee strangers, The terrible of the nations, And they have drawn out their swords Against the beauty of thy wisdom, And they have pierced thy brightness.
8
To destruction they bring thee down, Thou diest by the deaths of the wounded, in the heart of the seas.
9
Dost thou really say, `I <FI>am<Fi> God,' Before him who is slaying thee? And thou <FI>art<Fi> man, and not God, In the hand of him who is piercing thee.
10
The deaths of the uncircumcised thou diest, By the hand of strangers, for I have spoken, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.'
11
And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying:
12
`Son of man, lift up a lamentation for the king of Tyre, And thou hast said to him: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Thou art sealing up a measurement, Full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
13
In Eden, the garden of God, thou hast been, Every precious stone thy covering, Ruby, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, emerald, and carbuncle, and gold, The workmanship of thy tabrets, and of thy pipes, In thee in the day of thy being produced, have been prepared.
14
Thou <FI>art<Fi> an anointed cherub who is covering, And I have set thee in the holy mount, God thou hast been, In the midst of stones of fire thou hast walked up and down.
15
Perfect <FI>art<Fi> thou in thy ways, From the day of thy being produced, Till perversity hath been found in thee.
16
By the abundance of thy merchandise They have filled thy midst with violence, And thou dost sin, And I thrust thee from the mount of God, And I destroy thee, O covering cherub, From the midst of the stones of fire.
17
High hath been thy heart, because of thy beauty, Thou hast corrupted thy wisdom because of thy brightness, On the earth I have cast thee, Before kings I have set thee, to look on thee,
18
From the abundance of thy iniquity, By the perversity of thy traffic, Thou hast polluted thy sanctuaries, And I bring forth fire from thy midst, It hath devoured thee, And I make thee become ashes on the earth, Before the eyes of all beholding thee.
19
All knowing thee among the peoples Have been astonished at thee, Wastes thou hast been, and thou art not--to the age.'
20
And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,
21
`Son of man, set thy face unto Zidon, and prophesy concerning it;
22
and thou hast said: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I <FI>am<Fi> against thee, O Zidon, And I have been honoured in thy midst, And they have known that I <FI>am<Fi> Jehovah, In My doing in her judgments, And I have been sanctified in her.
23
And I have sent into her pestilence, And blood into her out-places, The wounded hath been judged in her midst, By the sword upon her round about, And they have known that I <FI>am<Fi> Jehovah.
24
And there is no more to the house of Israel A pricking brier, and paining thorn, Of all round about them--despising them, And they have known that I <FI>am<Fi> the Lord Jehovah.
25
Thus said the Lord Jehovah: In My gathering the house of Israel, Out of the peoples among whom they were scattered, I have been sanctified in them, Before the eyes of the nations, And they have dwelt on their ground, That I gave to My servant, to Jacob,
26
And they have dwelt on it confidently, And builded houses, and planted vineyards, And dwelt confidently--in My doing judgments, On all those despising them round about, And they have known that I, Jehovah, <FI>am<Fi> their God!'
