1
And, behold, the man clothed in linen, who had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.
2
Then I looked, and, behold, in the firmament that was over the head of the cherubim there appeared above them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne.
3
And he spake unto the man clothed in linen, and said, Go in between the whirling
4
wheels, even under the cherub, and fill both thy hands with coals of fire from between the cherubim, and scatter them over the city. And he went in in my sight.
5
Now the cherubim stood on the right side of the house, when the man went in; and the cloud filled the inner court.
6
And the glory of Jehovah mounted up from the cherub,
7
and stood over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of Jehovah’s glory.
8
And the sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard even to the outer court, as the voice of God Almighty when he speaketh.
9
And it came to pass, when he commanded the man clothed in linen, saying, Take fire from between the whirling
10
wheels, from between the cherubim, that he went in, and stood beside a wheel.
11
And the cherub stretched forth his hand from between the cherubim unto the fire that was between the cherubim, and took
12
thereof, and put it into the hands of him that was clothed in linen, who took it and went out.
13
And there appeared in the cherubim the form of a man’s hand under their wings.
14
And I looked, and behold, four wheels beside the cherubim, one wheel beside one cherub, and another wheel beside another cherub; and the appearance of the wheels was like unto a beryl stone.
15
And as for their appearance, they four had one likeness, as if a wheel had been within a wheel.
16
When they went, they went in their four directions: they turned not as they went, but to the place whither the head looked they followed it; they turned not as they went.
17
And their whole body, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and the wheels, were full of eyes round about,
18
even the wheels that they four had.
19
As for the wheels, they were called in my hearing the whirling
20
wheels.
21
And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of the cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.
22
And the cherubim mounted up: this is the living creature that I saw by the river Chebar.
23
And when the cherubim went, the wheels went beside them; and when the cherubim lifted up their wings to mount up from the earth, the wheels also turned not from beside them.
24
When they stood, these stood; and when they mounted up, these mounted up with them: for the spirit of the living creature was in them.
25
And the glory of Jehovah went forth from over the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubim.

And the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of Jehovah's house, which looketh eastward; and behold, at the door of the gate were five and twenty men; and I saw in the midst of them Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.

And he said unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise iniquity, and give wicked counsel in this city:
3
who say, It is not the time to build houses: this is the cauldron, and we are the flesh.
4
Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, son of man.
5
And the Spirit of Jehovah fell on me, and said unto me, Speak, Thus saith Jehovah: Thus have ye said, O house of Israel; and the things that come into your mind, I know them.
6
Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have filled the streets thereof with the slain.
7
Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Your slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and it is the cauldron; but you will I bring forth out of the midst of it.
8
Ye have feared the sword, and I will bring a sword upon you, saith the Lord Jehovah.

And I will bring you out of the midst of it, and give you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you.
10
Ye shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the borders of Israel; and ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah.
11
This shall not be your cauldron, neither shall ye be the flesh in the midst of it: I will judge you in the borders of Israel;
12
and ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah, in whose statutes ye have not walked, neither have done mine ordinances, but have done after the ordinances of the nations that are round about you.

And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
15
Son of man, [it is] thy brethren, thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel, the whole of it, unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem say, Get you far from Jehovah: unto us is this land given for a possession.
16
Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Although I have removed them far off among the nations, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries whither they are come.
17
Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will even gather you from the peoples, and assemble you out of the countries where ye are scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.
18
And they shall come thither, and they shall take away from thence all its detestable things and all its abominations.
19
And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh;
20
that they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them; and they shall be my people, and I will be theirGod.
21
But as for them whose heart walketh well-pleased with their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their heads, saith the Lord Jehovah.
22
And the cherubim lifted up their wings, and the wheels were beside them; and the glory of theGod of Israel was over them above.

Moreover the Spirit took me up, and brought me to the front gate of the house of the Lord, that looks eastward: and behold at the entrance of the gate were about five and twenty men; and I saw in the midst of them Jechonias the son of Ezer, and Phaltias the son of Banæas, the leaders of the people.
2
And the Lord said to me, Son of man, these are the men that devise vanities, and take evil counsel in this city:
3
who say, Have not the houses been newly built? This is the caldron, and we are the flesh.
4
Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, son of man.
5
And the Spirit of the Lord fell upon me, and said to me, say; Thus saith the Lord; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: and I know the devices of your spirit.
6
Ye have multiplied your dead in this city, and ye have filled your ways with slain men.
7
Therefore thus saith the Lord; Your dead whom ye have smitten in the midst of it, these are the flesh, and this[city] is the caldron: but I will bring you forth out of the midst of it.

Ye fear the sword; and I will bring a sword upon you, saith the Lord.

14
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
15
Son of man, thy brethren, and the men of thy captivity, and all the house of Israel are come to the full, to whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem said, Keep ye far away from the Lord: the land is given to us for an inheritance.
16
Therefore say thou, Thus saith the Lord; I will cast them off among the nations, and will disperse them into every land, yet will I be to them for a little sanctuary in the countries which they shall enter.
17
Therefore say thou, Thus saith the Lord; I will also take them from the heathen, and gather them out of the lands wherein I have scattered them, and will give them the land of Israel.
18
And they shall enter in there, and shall remove all the abominations of it, and all its iniquities from it.
19
And I will give them another heart, and will put a new spirit within them; and will extract the heart of stone from their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh:
20
that they may walk in my commandments, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be to me a people, and I will be to them a God.
21
And as for the heart [set upon] their abominations and their iniquities, as their heart went [after them], I have recompensed their ways on their heads, saith the Lord.

1
Et elevavit me spiritus, et introduxit me ad portam domus Domini orientalem, quæ respicit ad solis ortum: et ecce in introitu portæ viginti quinque viri: et vidi in medio eorum Iezoniam filium Azur, et Pheltiam filium Banaiæ, principes populi.
2
Dixitque ad me: Fili hominis, hi sunt viri, qui cogitant iniquitatem, et tractant consilium pessimum in urbe ista,
3
dicentes: Nonne dudum ædificatæ sunt domus? hæc est lebes, nos autem carnes.
4
Idcirco vaticinare de eis, vaticinare fili hominis.
5
Et irruit in me spiritus Domini, et dixit ad me: Loquere: Hæc dicit Dominus: Sic locuti estis domus Israel, et cogitationes cordis vestri ego novi.
6
15
Fili hominis, fratres tui, fratres tui, viri propinqui tui, et omnis domus Israel, universi, quibus dixerunt habitatores Ierusalem: Longe recedite a Domino, nobis data est terra in possessionem.
16
Propterea hæc dicit Dominus Deus, quia longe feci eos in Gentibus, et quia dispersi eos in terris: ero eis in sanctificationem modicam in terris, ad quas venerunt.
17
Propterea loquere: Hæc dicit Dominus Deus: Congregabo vos de populis, et adunabo de terris, in quibus dispersi estis, daboque vobis humum Israel.
18
24
Et spiritus levavit me, adduxitque in Chaldæam ad transmigrationem, in visione in spiritu Dei: et sublata est a me visio, quam videram.
25
Et locutus sum ad transmigrationem omnia verba Domini, quæ ostenderat mihi.
