1 And the children of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments from mount Horeb onward.
2 Now Moses used to take the tent and to pitch it without the camp, afar off from the camp; and he called it, The tent of meeting. And it came to pass, that every one that sought Jehovah went out unto the tent of meeting, which was without the camp.
3 And it came to pass, when Moses went out unto the Tent, that all the people rose up, and stood, every man at his tent door, and looked after Moses, until he was gone into the Tent.
4 And it came to pass, when Moses entered into the Tent, the pillar of cloud descended, and stood at the door of the Tent: and
5 Jehovah spake with Moses.
6 And all the people saw the pillar of cloud stand at the door of the Tent: and all the people rose up and worshipped, every man at his tent door.
7 And Jehovah spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his minister Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the Tent.
8 And Moses said unto Jehovah, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found favor in my sight.
9 Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found favor in thy sight, show me now thy ways, that I may know thee, to the end that I may find favor in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.
10 And he said, My presence shall go
11 with thee, and I will give thee rest.
12 And he said unto him, If thy presence go not
13 with me, carry us not up hence.
14 For wherein now shall it be known that I have found favor in thy sight, I and thy people? is it not in that thou goest with us, so that we are separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth?
15 And Jehovah said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken; for thou hast found favor in my sight, and I know thee by name.
16 And he said, Show me, I pray thee, thy glory.
17 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and will proclaim the name of Jehovah before thee; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.
18 And he said, Thou canst not see my face; for man shall not see me and live.
19 And Jehovah said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon the rock:
20 and it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a cleft of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand until I have passed by:
21 and I will take away my hand, and thou shalt see my back; but my face shall not be seen.
22 And Jehovah said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon the tables the words that were on the first tables, which thou brakest.
23 And be ready by the morning, and come up in the morning unto mount Sinai, and present thyself there to me on the top of the mount.
24 And no man shall come up with thee; neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount.
25 And he hewed two tables of stone like unto the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up unto mount Sinai, as Jehovah had commanded him, and took in his hand two tables of stone.
26 And Jehovah descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of Jehovah.
27 And Jehovah passed by before him, and proclaimed, Jehovah, Jehovah, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness and truth;
28 keeping lovingkindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin; and that will by no means clear
29 the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation.
30 And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped.
31 And he said, If now I have found favor in thy sight, O Lord, let the Lord, I pray thee, go in the midst of us; for it is a stiffnecked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance.
32 And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been wrought in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of Jehovah; for it is a terrible thing that I do with thee.
33 Observe thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.
34 Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:
35 but ye shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and ye shall cut down their Asherim;
36 (for thou shalt worship no other god: for Jehovah, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God);
37 lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they play the harlot after their gods, and sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee and thou eat of his sacrifice;
38 and thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters play the harlot after their gods, and make thy sons play the harlot after their gods.

1 Then wrought Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every man that was wise-hearted, in whom Jehovah had put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all manner of work of the service of the sanctuary — according to all that Jehovah had commanded.
2 And Moses called Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every man that was wise-hearted, in whose heartGod had put wisdom, every one whose heart moved him to come to the work to do it.
3 And they took from Moses every heave-offering that the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, to make it. And they still brought him voluntary offerings morning by morning.
4 And all the wise men that wrought all the work of the sanctuary came, every man from his work which they wrought,
5 and spoke to Moses, saying, The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work that Jehovah commanded to be done.
6 Then Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed through the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the heave-offering of the sanctuary! So the people were restrained from bringing;
7 for the work they had was sufficient for all the work to do it, and it was too much.
8 And every wise-hearted man among those that wrought the work of the tabernacle made ten curtains of twined byssus, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: [with] cherubim of artistic work did he make them.
9 The length of one curtain was twenty-eight cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits — one measure for all the curtains.
10 And he coupled five of the curtains one to another, and [the other] five curtains coupled he one to another.
11 And he made loops of blue on the edge of one curtain at the edge of the coupling; he did likewise in the edge of the outermost curtain in the other coupling.
12 He made fifty loops in one curtain, and he made fifty loops at the end of the curtain that was in the other coupling: the loops were opposite to one another.
13 And he made fifty clasps of gold, and coupled the curtains together with the clasps, so that the tabernacle became one.
14 And he made curtains of goats' [hair] for the tent over the tabernacle: eleven curtains did he make them.
15 The length of one curtain was thirty cubits, and four cubits the breadth of one curtain — one measure for the eleven curtains.
16 And he coupled five of the curtains by themselves, and six of the curtains by themselves.
17 And he made fifty loops on the edge of the outermost curtain in the coupling, and fifty loops made he on the edge of the curtain in the other coupling.
18 And he made fifty clasps of copper to couple the tent, that it might be one.
19 And he made a covering for the tent [of] rams' skins dyed red, and a covering of badgers' skins above [that].
20 And he made the boards for the tabernacle of acacia-wood, standing up;
21 ten cubits the length of the boards, and one cubit and a half the breadth of one board;
22 two tenons in one board, connected one with the other: thus did he make for all the boards of the tabernacle.
23 And he made the boards for the tabernacle: twenty boards for the south side southward;
24 and he made forty bases of silver under the twenty boards, two bases under one board, for its two tenons, and two bases under another board for its two tenons.
25 And for the other side of the tabernacle, on the side toward the north, he made twenty boards,
26 and their forty bases of silver, two bases under one board, and two bases under another board.
27 And at the rear of the tabernacle, westward, he made six boards;
28 and he made two boards for the corners of the tabernacle at the rear;
29 and they were joined beneath, and were coupled together at the top thereof into one ring: thus he did to both of them in both the corners;
30 and there were eight boards, and their silver bases: sixteen bases, under every board two bases.
31 — And he made bars of acacia-wood: five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle,
32 and five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the tabernacle at the rear, westward.
33 And he made the middle bar in the midst of the boards reach from one end to the other.
34 And he overlaid the boards with gold; and made their rings of gold [as] receptacles for the bars; and overlaid the bars with gold.
35 And he made the veil of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined byssus: of artistic work he made it [with] cherubim.
36 And he made four pillars of acacia[-wood] for it, and overlaid them with gold; their hooks were of gold; and he cast for them four bases of silver.
37 And he made a curtain for the entrance of the tent of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined byssus, of embroidery;
38 and its five pillars with their hooks; and he overlaid their capitals and their connecting-rods with gold; and their five bases were of copper.

1 And Beseleel wrought, and Eliab and every one wise in understanding, to whom was given wisdom and knowledge, to understand to do all the works according to the holy offices, according to all things which the Lord appointed.
2 And Moses called Beseleel and Eliab, and all that had wisdom, to whom God gave knowledge in [their] heart, and all who were freely willing to come forward to the works, to perform them.
3 And they received from Moses all the offerings, which the children of Israel brought for all the works of the sanctuary to do them; and they continued to receive the gifts brought, from those who brought them in the morning.
4 And there came all the wise men who wrought the works of the sanctuary, each according to his own work, which they wrought.
5 And one said to Moses, The people bring an abundance [too great] in proportion to all the works which the Lord has appointed [them] to do.
6 And Moses commanded, and proclaimed in the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman any longer labour for the offerings of the sanctuary; and the people were restrained from bringing any more.
7 And they had materials sufficient for making the furniture, and they left some besides.
8 And every wise one among those that wrought made the robes of the holy places, which belong to Aaron the priest, as the Lord commanded Moses.
9 And he made the ephod of gold, and blue, and purple, and spun scarlet, and fine linen twined.
10 And the plates were divided, the threads of gold, so as to interweave with the blue and purple, and with the spun scarlet, and the fine linen twined, they made it a woven work;
11 shoulder-pieces joined from both sides, a work woven by mutual twisting of the parts into one another.
12 They made it of the same material according to the making of it, of gold, and blue, and purple, and spun scarlet, and fine linen twined, as the Lord commanded Moses;
13 and they made the two emerald stones clasped together and set in gold, graven and cut after the cutting of a seal with the names of the children of Israel;
14 and he put them on the shoulder-pieces of the ephod, [as] stones of memorial of the children of Israel, as the Lord appointed Moses.
15 And they made the oracle, a work woven with embroidery, according to the work of the ephod, of gold, and blue, and purple, and spun scarlet, and fine linen twined.
16 They made the oracle square [and] double, the length of a span, and the breadth of a span,—double.
17 And there was interwoven with it a woven work of four rows of stones, a series of stones, the first row, a sardius and topaz and emerald;
18 and the second row, a carbuncle and sapphire and jasper;
19 and the third row, a ligure and agate and amethyst;
20 and the fourth row a chrysolite and beryl and onyx set round about with gold, and fastened with gold.
21 And the stones were twelve according to the names of the children of Israel, graven according to their names like seals, each according to his own name for the twelve tribes.
22 And they made on the oracle turned wreaths, wreathen work, of pure gold,
23 and they made two golden circlets and two golden rings. And they put the two golden rings on both the [upper] corners of the oracle;
24 and they put the golden wreaths on the rings on both sides of the oracle,
25 and the two wreaths into the two couplings. And they put them on the two circlets, and they put them on the shoulders of the ephod opposite [each other] in front.
26 And they made two golden rings, and put them on the two projections on the top of the oracle, and on the top of the hinder part of the ephod within.
27 And they made two golden rings, and put them on both the shoulders of the ephod under it, in front by the coupling above the connexion of the ephod.
28 And he fastened the oracle by the rings that were on it to the rings of the ephod, which were fastened with [a string] of blue, joined together with the woven work of the ephod; that the oracle should not be loosed from the ephod, as the Lord commanded Moses.
29 And they made the tunic under the ephod, woven work, all of blue.
30 And the opening of the tunic in the midst woven closely together, the opening having a fringe round about, that it might not be rent.
31 And they made on the border of the tunic below pomegranates as of a flowering pomegranate tree, of blue, and purple, and spun scarlet, and fine linen twined.
32 And they made golden bells, and put the bells on the border of the tunic round about between the pomegranates:
33 a golden bell and a pomegranate on the border of the tunic round about, for the ministration, as the Lord commanded Moses.
34 And they made vestments of fine linen, a woven work, for Aaron and his sons,
35 and the tires of fine linen, and the mitre of fine linen, and the drawers of fine linen twined;
36 and their girdles of fine linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet spun, the work of an embroiderer, according as the Lord commanded Moses.
37 And they made the golden plate, a dedicated thing of the sanctuary, of pure gold; and he wrote upon it graven letters [as] of a seal, Holiness to the Lord.
38 And they put it on the border of blue, so that it should be on the mitre above, as the Lord commanded Moses.

3 tradidit eis universa donaria filiorum Israel.
4 Unde artifices venire compulsi,
Sic fecit in omnibus tabernaculi tabulis.
29 quæ iunctæ erant a deorsum usque sursum, et in unam compaginem pariter ferebantur.

2 Moses called Bezalel and Oholiab, and every wise-hearted man, in whose heart the LORD had put wisdom, even everyone whose heart stirred him up to come to the work to do it.
3 They received from Moses all the offering which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, with which to make it. They kept bringing free will offerings to him every morning.
4 All the wise men, who performed all the work of the sanctuary, each came from his work which he did.
5 They spoke to Moses, saying, “The people have brought much more than enough for the service of the work which the LORD commanded to make.”
6 Moses gave a commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, “Let neither man nor woman make anything else for the offering for the sanctuary.” So the people were restrained from bringing.
7 For the stuff they had was sufficient to do all the work, and too much.
8 All the wise-hearted men among those who did the work made the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen, blue, purple, and scarlet. They made them with cherubim, the work of a skillful workman.
9 The length of each curtain was twenty-eight cubits, and the width of each curtain four cubits. All the curtains had one measure.
10 He coupled five curtains to one another, and the other five curtains he coupled to one another.
11 He made loops of blue on the edge of the one curtain from the edge in the coupling. Likewise he made in the edge of the curtain that was outermost in the second coupling.
12 He made fifty loops in the one curtain, and he made fifty loops in the edge of the curtain that was in the second coupling. The loops were opposite to one another.
13 He made fifty clasps of gold, and coupled the curtains to one another with the clasps: so the tabernacle was a unit.
14 He made curtains of goats’ hair for a covering over the tabernacle. He made them eleven curtains.
15 The length of each curtain was thirty cubits, and four cubits the width of each curtain. The eleven curtains had one measure.
16 He coupled five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves.
17 He made fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that was outermost in the coupling, and he made fifty loops on the edge of the curtain which was outermost in the second coupling.
18 He made fifty clasps of bronze to couple the tent together, that it might be a unit.
19 He made a covering for the tent of rams’ skins dyed red, and a covering of sea cow hides above.
20 He made the boards for the tabernacle of acacia wood, standing up.
21 Ten cubits was the length of a board, and a cubit and a half the width of each board.
22 Each board had two tenons, joined to one another. He made all the boards of the tabernacle this way.
23 He made the boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards for the south side southward.
24 He made forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards: two sockets under one board for its two tenons, and two sockets under another board for its two tenons.
25 For the second side of the tabernacle, on the north side, he made twenty boards
26 and their forty sockets of silver: two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.
27 For the far part of the tabernacle westward he made six boards.
28 He made two boards for the corners of the tabernacle in the far part.
29 They were double beneath, and in the same way they were all the way to its top to one ring. He did this to both of them in the two corners.
30 There were eight boards and their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets—under every board two sockets.
31 He made bars of acacia wood: five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle,
32 and five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the tabernacle for the hinder part westward.
33 He made the middle bar to pass through in the middle of the boards from the one end to the other.
34 He overlaid the boards with gold, and made their rings of gold as places for the bars, and overlaid the bars with gold.
35 He made the veil of blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twined linen, with cherubim. He made it the work of a skillful workman.
36 He made four pillars of acacia for it, and overlaid them with gold. Their hooks were of gold. He cast four sockets of silver for them.
37 He made a screen for the door of the tent, of blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twined linen, the work of an embroiderer;
38 and the five pillars of it with their hooks. He overlaid their capitals and their fillets with gold, and their five sockets were of bronze.

A long, long time ago, there was nothing at all - no earth, no sky, no animals, no people. It was all dark and empty. But God was there! God is so powerful that He can make anything just by speaking. So God said "Let there be light!" and BOOM! There was light everywhere! God saw that the light was beautiful and good. He called the light "day" and the darkness "night." This was the very first day when God started making our wonderful world!

Before anything existed - no planets, stars, or life - God decided to create the universe. The earth started out as a dark, empty place covered with water. But God's Spirit was there, ready to bring order and beauty to everything. When God spoke and said "Let there be light," light immediately appeared because God's words have incredible power. God looked at the light and was pleased with what He had made. He organized time by separating light (day) from darkness (night), creating the first 24-hour period. This shows us that God is organized and purposeful in everything He does.

Genesis 1:1-5 establishes fundamental theological truths about God and creation. The Hebrew word "bara" (created) indicates creation from nothing (ex nihilo), demonstrating God's absolute sovereignty and power. The phrase "without form and void" (tohu wa-bohu) describes a state of chaos that God transforms into order. The Spirit of God "hovering" or "brooding" over the waters suggests active, caring involvement in creation. The creation of light before the sun (created on day 4) indicates that God Himself is the ultimate source of light and energy. The establishment of day and night creates the framework of time, showing that God operates within orderly patterns while transcending them. This passage refutes both atheistic materialism and pantheism, establishing that God is both transcendent (separate from creation) and immanent (actively involved in it).
