1 And thou shalt make a veil of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen: with cherubim the work of the skilful workman shall it be made:
2 and thou shalt hang it upon four pillars of acacia overlaid with gold; their hooks
3 shall be of gold, upon four sockets of silver.
4 And thou shalt hang up the veil under the clasps, and shalt bring in thither within the veil the ark of the testimony: and the veil shall separate unto you between the holy place and the most holy.
5 And thou shalt put the mercy-seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy place.
6 And thou shalt set the table without the veil, and the candlestick over against the table on the side of the tabernacle toward the south: and thou shalt put the table on the north side.
7 And thou shalt make a screen for the door of the Tent, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, the work of the embroiderer.
8 And thou shalt make for the screen five pillars of acacia, and overlay them with gold: their hooks shall be of gold: and thou shalt cast five sockets of brass for them.
9 And thou shalt make the altar of acacia wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar shall be foursquare: and the height thereof shall be three cubits.
10 And thou shalt make the horns of it upon the four corners thereof; the horns thereof shall be of one piece with it: and thou shalt overlay it with brass.
11 And thou shalt make its pots to take away its ashes, and its shovels, and its basins, and its flesh-hooks, and its firepans: all the vessels thereof thou shalt make of brass.
12 And thou shalt make for it a grating of network of brass: and upon the net shalt thou make four brazen rings in the four corners thereof.
13 And thou shalt put it under the ledge round the altar beneath, that the net may reach halfway up the altar.
14 And thou shalt make staves for the altar, staves of acacia wood, and overlay them with brass.
15 And the staves thereof shall be put into the rings, and the staves shall be upon the two sides of the altar, in bearing it.
16 Hollow with planks shalt thou make it: as it hath been showed thee in the mount, so shall they make it.
17 And thou shalt make the court of the tabernacle: for the south side southward there shall be hangings for the court of fine twined linen a hundred cubits long for one side:
18 and the pillars thereof shall be twenty, and their sockets twenty, of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets
19 shall be of silver.
20 And likewise for the north side in length there shall be hangings a hundred cubits long, and the pillars thereof twenty, and their sockets twenty, of brass; the hooks of the pillars, and their fillets, of silver.
21 And for the breadth of the court on the west side shall be hangings of fifty cubits; their pillars ten, and their sockets ten.
22 And the breadth of the court on the east side eastward shall be fifty cubits.
23 The hangings for the one side
24 of the gate shall be fifteen cubits; their pillars three, and their sockets three.
25 And for the other side shall be hangings of fifteen cubits; their pillars three, and their sockets three.
26 And for the gate of the court shall be a screen of twenty cubits, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, the work of the embroiderer; their pillars four, and their sockets four.
27 All the pillars of the court round about shall be filleted with silver; their hooks of silver, and their sockets of brass.
28 The length of the court shall be a hundred cubits, and the breadth fifty every where, and the height five cubits, of fine twined linen, and their sockets of brass.
29 All the instruments of the tabernacle in all the service thereof, and all the pins thereof, and all the pins of the court, shall be of brass.
30 And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee pure olive oil beaten for the light, to cause a lamp to burn continually.
31 In the tent of meeting, without the veil which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall keep it in order from evening to morning before Jehovah: it shall be a statute for ever throughout their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel.
32 And bring thou near unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron’s sons.
33 And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, for glory and for beauty.
34 And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise-hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they make Aaron’s garments to sanctify him, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office.
35 And these are the garments which they shall make: a breastplate, and an ephod, and a robe, and a coat of checker work, a mitre, and a girdle: and they shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office.
36 And they shall take the gold, and the blue, and the purple, and the scarlet, and the fine linen.
37 And they shall make the ephod of gold, of blue, and purple, scarlet, and fine twined linen, the work of the skilful workman.
38 It shall have two shoulder-pieces joined to the two ends thereof, that it may be joined together.
39 And the skilfully woven band, which is upon it, wherewith to gird it on, shall be like the work thereof
40 and of the same piece; of gold, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.
41 And thou shalt take two onyx stones, and grave on them the names of the children of Israel:
42 six of their names on the one stone, and the names of the six that remain on the other stone, according to their birth.
43 With the work of an engraver in stone, like the engravings of a signet, shalt thou engrave the two stones, according to the names of the children of Israel: thou shalt make them to be inclosed in settings of gold.
44 And thou shalt put the two stones upon the shoulder-pieces of the ephod, to be stones of memorial for the children of Israel: and Aaron shall bear their names before Jehovah upon his two shoulders for a memorial.
45 And thou shalt make settings of gold,
46 and two chains of pure gold; like cords shalt thou make them, of wreathen work: and thou shalt put the wreathen chains on the settings.

darby (darby) - eBible.org Darby 1890 plaintext

1 And this is the thing which thou shalt do to them to hallow them, that they may serve me as priests: take one young bullock, and two rams without blemish,
2 and unleavened bread, and unleavened cakes mingled with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil — of wheaten flour shalt thou make them.
3 And thou shalt put them into one basket, and present them in the basket, with the bullock and the two rams.
4 And Aaron and his sons thou shalt bring near the entrance of the tent of meeting, and shalt bathe them with water.
5 And thou shalt take the garments, and clothe Aaron with the vest, and the cloak of the ephod, and the ephod, and the breastplate, and shalt gird him with the girdle of the ephod.
6 And thou shalt put the turban upon his head, and fasten the holy diadem to the turban,
7 and shalt take the anointing oil, and pour [it] on his head, and anoint him.
8 And thou shalt bring his sons near, and clothe them with the vests.
9 And thou shalt gird them with the girdle — Aaron and his sons, and bind the high caps on them; and the priesthood shall be theirs for an everlasting statute; and thou shalt consecrate Aaron and his sons.
10 And thou shalt present the bullock before the tent of meeting; and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands upon the head of the bullock;
11 and thou shalt slaughter the bullock before Jehovah, at the entrance of the tent of meeting;
12 and thou shalt take of the blood of the bullock, and put it on the horns of the altar with thy finger, and shalt pour all the blood at the bottom of the altar.
13 And thou shalt take all the fat that covereth the inwards, and the net of the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, and burn them upon the altar.
14 And the flesh of the bullock, and its skin, and its dung, shalt thou burn with fire outside the camp: it is a sin-offering.
15 And thou shalt take one of the rams, and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the ram;
16 and thou shalt slaughter the ram, and shalt take its blood, and sprinkle [it] on the altar round about.
17 And thou shalt cut up the ram into its pieces, and wash its inwards, and its legs, and put [them] upon its pieces, and upon its head;
18 and thou shalt burn the whole ram upon the altar: it is a burnt-offering to Jehovah — a sweet odour; it is an offering by fire to Jehovah.
19 And thou shalt take the second ram, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands upon the head of the ram;
20 and thou shalt slaughter the ram, and take of its blood, and put [it] on the tip of the [right] ear of Aaron, and on the tip of the right ear of his sons, and on the thumb of their right hand, and on the great toe of their right foot; and thou shalt sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.
21 And thou shalt take of the blood that is upon the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle [it] on Aaron, and on his garments, and on his sons, and on the garments of his sons with him; and he shall be hallowed, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him.
22 Also of the ram shalt thou take the fat, and the fat-tail, and the fat that covereth the inwards, and the net of the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, and the right shoulder — for it is a ram of consecration —
23 and one loaf of bread, and one cake of oiled bread, and one wafer out of the basket of the unleavened [bread] that is before Jehovah;
24 and thou shalt put all this in the hands of Aaron, and in the hands of his sons, and shalt wave them as a wave-offering before Jehovah.
25 And thou shalt receive them of their hand and burn [them] upon the altar over the burnt-offering, for a sweet odour before Jehovah: it is an offering by fire to Jehovah.
26 And thou shalt take the breast of the ram of consecration which is for Aaron, and wave it as a wave-offering before Jehovah; and it shall be thy part.
27 And thou shalt hallow the breast of the wave-offering, and the shoulder of the heave-offering, that hath been waved and heaved up, of the ram of the consecration, of that which is for Aaron, and of [that] which is for his sons.
28 And they shall be for Aaron and his sons, as an everlasting statute, on the part of the children of Israel; for it is a heave-offering; and it shall be a heave-offering on the part of the children of Israel of the sacrifices of their peace-offerings, [as] their heave-offering to Jehovah.
29 And the holy garments of Aaron shall be his sons' after him, to be anointed therein, and to be consecrated in them.
30 The son that is priest in his stead shall put them on seven days, when he cometh into the tent of meeting to serve in the sanctuary.
31 And thou shalt take the ram of the consecration, and boil its flesh in a holy place.
32 And Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram, and the bread that is in the basket, at the entrance of the tent of meeting.
33 They shall eat the things with which the atonement was made, to consecrate [and] to hallow them; but a stranger shall not eat [of them], for they are holy.
34 And if [any] of the flesh of the consecration, and of the bread, remain until the morning, then thou shalt burn the remainder with fire: it shall not be eaten, for it is holy.
35 And thus shalt thou do to Aaron, and to his sons, according to all that I have commanded thee: seven days shalt thou consecrate them.
36 And thou shalt offer every day a bullock as a sin-offering for atonement; and the altar shalt thou cleanse from sin, by making atonement for it, and shalt anoint it, to hallow it.
37 Seven days shalt thou make atonement for the altar and hallow it; and the altar shall be most holy: whatever toucheth the altar shall be holy.
38 And this is what thou shalt offer upon the altar — two lambs of the first year, day by day continually.
39 The one lamb thou shalt offer in the morning; and the other lamb thou shalt offer between the two evenings.
40 And with the one lamb a tenth part of wheaten flour mingled with beaten oil, a fourth part of a hin; and a drink-offering, a fourth part of a hin of wine.
41 And the second lamb shalt thou offer between the two evenings; as the oblation in the morning, and as its drink-offering shalt thou offer with this, for a sweet odour, an offering by fire to Jehovah.
42 It shall be a continual burnt-offering throughout your generations at the entrance of the tent of meeting before Jehovah, where I will meet with you, to speak there with thee.
43 And there will I meet with the children of Israel; and it shall be hallowed by my glory.
44 And I will hallow the tent of meeting, and the altar; and I will hallow Aaron and his sons, that they may serve me as priests.
45 And I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel, and will be theirGod.
46 And they shall know that I am Jehovah theirGod, who have brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, to dwell in their midst: I am Jehovah theirGod.

1 And these are the things which thou shalt do to them: thou shalt sanctify them, so that they shall serve me in the priesthood; and thou shalt take one young calf from the herd, and two unblemished rams;
2 and unleavened loaves kneaded with oil, and unleavened cakes anointed with oil: thou shalt make them [of] fine flour of wheat.
3 And thou shalt put them on one basket, and thou shalt offer them on the basket, and the young calf and the two rams.
4 And thou shalt bring Aaron and his sons to the doors of the tabernacle of testimony, and thou shalt wash them with water.
5 And having taken the garments, thou shalt put on Aaron thy brother both the full-length robe and the ephod and the oracle; and thou shalt join for him the oracle to the ephod.
6 And thou shalt put the mitre on his head; and thou shalt put the plate, [even] the Holiness, on the mitre.
7 And thou shalt take of the anointing oil, and thou shalt pour it on his head, and shalt anoint him,
8 and thou shalt bring his sons, and put garments on them.
9 And thou shalt gird them with the girdles, and put the tires upon them, and they shall have a priestly office to me for ever; and thou shalt fill the hands of Aaron and the hands of his sons.
10 And thou shalt bring the calf to the door of the tabernacle of witness; and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the calf, before the Lord, by the doors of the tabernacle of witness.
11 And thou shalt slay the calf before the Lord, by the doors of the tabernacle of witness.
12 And thou shalt take of the blood of the calf, and put it on the horns of the altar with thy finger, but all the rest of the blood thou shalt pour out at the foot of the altar.
13 And thou shalt take all the fat that is on the belly, and the lobe of the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, and shalt put them upon the altar.
14 But the flesh of the calf, and his skin, and his dung, shalt thou burn with fire without the camp; for it is an [offering on account] of sin.
15 And thou shalt take one ram, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the ram.
16 And thou shalt kill it, and take the blood and pour it on the altar round about.
17 And thou shalt divide the ram by his several limbs, and thou shalt wash the inward parts and the feet with water, and thou shalt put them on the divided parts with the head.
18 And thou shalt offer the whole ram on the altar, a whole burnt-offering to the Lord for a sweet-smelling savour: it is an offering of incense to the Lord.
19 And thou shalt take the second ram, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the ram.
20 And thou shalt kill it, and take of the blood of it, and put it on the tip of Aaron's right ear, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot, and on the tips of the right ears of his sons, and on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the great toes of their right feet.
21 And thou shalt take of the blood from the altar, and of the anointing oil; and thou shalt sprinkle it upon Aaron and on his garments, and on his sons and on his sons' garments with him; and he shall be sanctified and his apparel, and his sons and his sons' apparel with him: but the blood of the ram thou shalt pour round about upon the altar.
22 And thou shalt take from the ram its fat, both the fat that covers the belly, and the lobe of the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, and the right shoulder, for this is a consecration.
23 And one cake [made] with oil, and one cake from the basket of unleavened bread set forth before the Lord.
24 And thou shalt put them all on the hands of Aaron, and on the hands of his sons, and thou shalt separate them as a separate offering before the Lord.
25 And thou shalt take them from their hands, and shalt offer them up on the altar of whole burnt-offering for a sweet-smelling savour before the Lord: it is an offering to the Lord.
26 And thou shalt take the breast from the ram of consecration which is Aaron's, and thou shalt separate it as a separate offering before the Lord, and it shall be to thee for a portion.
27 And thou shalt sanctify the separated breast and the shoulder of removal which has been separated, and which has been removed from the ram of consecration, of the portion of Aaron and of [that of] his sons.
28 And it shall be a perpetual statute of the children of Israel to Aaron and his sons, for this is a separate offering; and it shall be a special offering from the children of Israel, from the peace-offerings of the children of Israel, a special offering to the Lord.
29 And the apparel of the sanctuary which is Aaron's shall be his sons' after him, for them to be anointed in them, and to fill their hands.
30 The priest his successor from among his sons who shall go into the tabernacle of witness to minister in the holies, shall put them on seven days.
31 And thou shalt take the ram of consecration, and thou shalt boil the flesh in the holy place.
32 And Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram, and the loaves in the basket, by the doors of the tabernacle of witness.
33 They shall eat the offerings with which they were sanctified to fill their hands, to sanctify them; and a stranger shall not eat of them, for they are holy.
34 And if [aught] be left of the flesh of the sacrifice of consecration and of the loaves until the morning, thou shalt burn the remainder with fire: it shall not be eaten, for it is a holy thing.
35 And thus shalt thou do for Aaron and for his sons according to all things that I have commanded thee; seven days shalt thou fill their hands.
36 And thou shalt sacrifice the calf of the sin-offering on the day of purification, and thou shalt purify the altar when thou dost perform consecration upon it, and thou shalt anoint it so as to sanctify it.
37 Seven days shalt thou purify the altar and sanctify it; and the altar shall be most holy, every one that touches the altar shall be hallowed.
38 And these are the offerings which thou shalt offer upon the altar; two unblemished lambs of a year old daily on the altar continually, a constant offering.
39 One lamb thou shalt offer in the morning, and the second lamb thou shalt offer in the evening.
40 And a tenth measure of fine flour mingled with the fourth part of an hin of beaten oil, and a drink-offering the fourth part of a hin of wine for one lamb.
41 And thou shalt offer the second lamb in the evening, after the manner of the morning-offering, and according to the drink-offering of the morning lamb; thou shalt offer it an offering to the Lord for a sweet-smelling savour,
42 a perpetual sacrifice throughout your generations, at the door of the tabernacle of witness before the Lord; wherein I will be known to thee from thence, so as to speak to thee.
43 And I will there give orders to the children of Israel, and I will be sanctified in my glory.
44 And I will sanctify the tabernacle of testimony and the altar, and I will sanctify Aaron and his sons, to minister as priests to me.
45 And I will be called upon among the children of Israel, and will be their God.
46 And they shall know that I am the Lord their God, who brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, to be called upon by them, and to be their God.

1 “This is the thing that you shall do to them to make them holy, to minister to me in the priest’s office: take one young bull and two rams without defect,
2 unleavened bread, unleavened cakes mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil. You shall make them of fine wheat flour.
3 You shall put them into one basket, and bring them in the basket, with the bull and the two rams.
4 You shall bring Aaron and his sons to the door of the Tent of Meeting, and shall wash them with water.
5 You shall take the garments, and put on Aaron the tunic, the robe of the ephod, the ephod, and the breastplate, and clothe him with the skillfully woven band of the ephod.
6 You shall set the turban on his head, and put the holy crown on the turban.
7 Then you shall take the anointing oil, and pour it on his head, and anoint him.
8 You shall bring his sons, and put tunics on them.
9 You shall clothe them with belts, Aaron and his sons, and bind headbands on them. They shall have the priesthood by a perpetual statute. You shall consecrate Aaron and his sons.
10 “You shall bring the bull before the Tent of Meeting; and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the bull.
11 You shall kill the bull before the LORD at the door of the Tent of Meeting.
12 You shall take of the blood of the bull, and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger; and you shall pour out all the blood at the base of the altar.
13 You shall take all the fat that covers the innards, the cover of the liver, the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, and burn them on the altar.
14 But the meat of the bull, and its skin, and its dung, you shall burn with fire outside of the camp. It is a sin offering.
15 “You shall also take the one ram, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the ram.
16 You shall kill the ram, and you shall take its blood, and sprinkle it around on the altar.
17 You shall cut the ram into its pieces, and wash its innards, and its legs, and put them with its pieces, and with its head.
18 You shall burn the whole ram on the altar: it is a burnt offering to the LORD; it is a pleasant aroma, an offering made by fire to the LORD.
19 “You shall take the other ram, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the ram.
20 Then you shall kill the ram, and take some of its blood, and put it on the tip of the right ear of Aaron, and on the tip of the right ear of his sons, and on the thumb of their right hand, and on the big toe of their right foot; and sprinkle the blood around on the altar.
21 You shall take of the blood that is on the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it on Aaron, and on his garments, and on his sons, and on the garments of his sons with him: and he shall be made holy, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons’ garments with him.
22 Also you shall take some of the ram’s fat, the fat tail, the fat that covers the innards, the cover of the liver, the two kidneys, the fat that is on them, and the right thigh (for it is a ram of consecration),
23 and one loaf of bread, one cake of oiled bread, and one wafer out of the basket of unleavened bread that is before the LORD.
24 You shall put all of this in Aaron’s hands, and in his sons’ hands, and shall wave them for a wave offering before the LORD.
25 You shall take them from their hands, and burn them on the altar on the burnt offering, for a pleasant aroma before the LORD: it is an offering made by fire to the LORD.
26 “You shall take the breast of Aaron’s ram of consecration, and wave it for a wave offering before the LORD. It shall be your portion.
27 You shall sanctify the breast of the wave offering and the thigh of the wave offering, which is waved, and which is raised up, of the ram of consecration, even of that which is for Aaron, and of that which is for his sons.
28 It shall be for Aaron and his sons as their portion forever from the children of Israel; for it is a wave offering. It shall be a wave offering from the children of Israel of the sacrifices of their peace offerings, even their wave offering to the LORD.
29 “The holy garments of Aaron shall be for his sons after him, to be anointed in them, and to be consecrated in them.
30 Seven days shall the son who is priest in his place put them on, when he comes into the Tent of Meeting to minister in the holy place.
31 “You shall take the ram of consecration and boil its meat in a holy place.
32 Aaron and his sons shall eat the meat of the ram, and the bread that is in the basket, at the door of the Tent of Meeting.
33 They shall eat those things with which atonement was made, to consecrate and sanctify them; but a stranger shall not eat of it, because they are holy.
34 If anything of the meat of the consecration, or of the bread, remains to the morning, then you shall burn the remainder with fire. It shall not be eaten, because it is holy.
35 “You shall do so to Aaron and to his sons, according to all that I have commanded you. You shall consecrate them seven days.
36 Every day you shall offer the bull of sin offering for atonement. You shall cleanse the altar when you make atonement for it. You shall anoint it, to sanctify it.
37 Seven days you shall make atonement for the altar, and sanctify it; and the altar shall be most holy. Whatever touches the altar shall be holy.
38 “Now this is that which you shall offer on the altar: two lambs a year old day by day continually.
39 The one lamb you shall offer in the morning; and the other lamb you shall offer at evening;
40 and with the one lamb a tenth part of an ephah of fine flour mixed with the fourth part of a hin of beaten oil, and the fourth part of a hin of wine for a drink offering.
41 The other lamb you shall offer at evening, and shall do to it according to the meal offering of the morning and according to its drink offering, for a pleasant aroma, an offering made by fire to the LORD.
42 It shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the Tent of Meeting before the LORD, where I will meet with you, to speak there to you.
43 There I will meet with the children of Israel; and the place shall be sanctified by my glory.
44 I will sanctify the Tent of Meeting and the altar. I will also sanctify Aaron and his sons to minister to me in the priest’s office.
45 I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God.
46 They shall know that I am the LORD their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, that I might dwell among them: I am the LORD their God.

1 `And this <FI>is<Fi> the thing which thou dost to them, to hallow them, for being priests to Me: Take one bullock, a son of the herd, and two rams, perfect ones,
2 and bread unleavened, and cakes unleavened anointed with oil, of fine wheaten flour thou dost make them,
3 and thou hast put them on one basket, and hast brought them near in the basket, also the bullock and the two rams.
4 `And Aaron and his sons thou dost bring near unto the opening of the tent of meeting, and hast bathed them with water;
5 and thou hast taken the garments, and hast clothed Aaron with the coat, and the upper robe of the ephod, and the ephod, and the breastplate, and hast girded him with the girdle of the ephod,
6 and hast set the mitre on his head, and hast put the holy crown on the mitre,
7 and hast taken the anointing oil, and hast poured <FI>it<Fi> on his head, and hast anointed him.
8 `And his sons thou dost bring near, and hast clothed them <FI>with<Fi> coats,
9 and hast girded them <FI>with<Fi> a girdle (Aaron and his sons), and hast bound on them bonnets; and the priesthood hath been theirs by a statute age-during, and thou hast consecrated the hand of Aaron, and the hand of his sons,
10 and hast brought near the bullock before the tent of meeting, and Aaron hath laid--his sons also--their hands on the head of the bullock.
11 `And thou hast slaughtered the bullock before Jehovah, at the opening of the tent of meeting,
12 and hast taken of the blood of the bullock, and hast put <FI>it<Fi> on the horns of the altar with thy finger, and all the blood thou dost pour out at the foundation of the altar;
13 and thou hast taken all the fat which is covering the inwards, and the redundance on the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat which <FI>is<Fi> on them, and hast made perfume on the altar;
14 and the flesh of the bullock, and his skin, and his dung, thou dost burn with fire at the outside of the camp; it <FI>is<Fi> a sin-offering.
15 `And the one ram thou dost take, and Aaron and his sons have laid their hands on the head of the ram,
16 and thou hast slaughtered the ram, and hast taken its blood, and hast sprinkled <FI>it<Fi> on the altar round about,
17 and the ram thou dost cut into its pieces, and hast washed its inwards, and its legs, and hast put <FI>them<Fi> on its pieces, and on its head;
18 and thou hast made perfume with the whole ram on the altar. It <FI>is<Fi> a burnt-offering to Jehovah, a sweet fragrance; a fire-offering it <FI>is<Fi> to Jehovah.
19 `And thou hast taken the second ram, and Aaron hath laid--his sons also--their hands on the head of the ram,
20 and thou hast slaughtered the ram, and hast taken of its blood, and hast put on the tip of the right ear of Aaron, and on the tip of the right ear of his sons, and on the thumb of their right hand, and on the great toe of their right foot, and hast sprinkled the blood on the altar round about;
21 and thou hast taken of the blood which <FI>is<Fi> on the altar, and of the anointing oil, and hast sprinkled on Aaron, and on his garments, and on his sons, and on the garments of his sons with him, and he hath been hallowed, he, and his garments, and his sons, and the garments of his sons with him.
22 `And thou hast taken from the ram the fat, and the fat tail, and the fat which is covering the inwards, and the redundance on the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat which <FI>is<Fi> on them, and the right leg, for it <FI>is<Fi> a ram of consecration,
23 and one round cake of bread, and one cake of oiled bread, and one thin cake out of the basket of the unleavened things which <FI>is<Fi> before Jehovah.
24 `And thou hast set the whole on the hands of Aaron, and on the hands of his sons, and hast waved them--a wave-offering before Jehovah;
25 and thou hast taken them out of their hand, and hast made perfume on the altar beside the burnt-offering, for sweet fragrance before Jehovah; a fire-offering it <FI>is<Fi> to Jehovah.
26 `And thou hast taken the breast from the ram of the consecration which <FI>is<Fi> for Aaron, and hast waved it--a wave-offering before Jehovah, and it hath become thy portion;
27 and thou hast sanctified the breast of the wave-offering, and the leg of the heave-offering, which hath been waved, and which hath been lifted up from the ram of the consecration, of that which <FI>is<Fi> for Aaron, and of that which <FI>is<Fi> for his sons;
28 and it hath been for Aaron and for his sons, by a statute age-during from the sons of Israel, for it <FI>is<Fi> a heave-offering; and it is a heave offering from the sons of Israel, from the sacrifices of their peace-offerings--their heave-offering to Jehovah.
29 `And the holy garments which are Aaron's, are for his sons after him, to be anointed in them, and to consecrate in them their hand;
30 seven days doth the priest in his stead (of his sons) put them on, when he goeth in unto the tent of meeting, to minister in the sanctuary.
31 `And the ram of the consecration thou dost take, and hast boiled its flesh in the holy place;
32 and Aaron hath eaten--his sons also--the flesh of the ram, and the bread which <FI>is<Fi> in the basket, at the opening of the tent of meeting;
33 and they have eaten those things by which there is atonement to consecrate their hand, to sanctify them; and a stranger doth not eat--for they <FI>are<Fi> holy;
34 and if there be left of the flesh of the consecration or of the bread till the morning, then thou hast burned that which is left with fire; it is not eaten, for it <FI>is<Fi> holy.
35 `And thou hast done thus to Aaron and to his sons, according to all that I have commanded thee; seven days thou dost consecrate their hand;
36 and a bullock, a sin-offering, thou dost prepare daily for the atonements, and thou hast atoned for the altar, in thy making atonement on it, and hast anointed it to sanctify it;
37 seven days thou dost make atonement for the altar, and hast sanctified it, and the altar hath been most holy; all that is coming against the altar is holy.
38 `And this <FI>is<Fi> that which thou dost prepare on the altar; two lambs, sons of a year, daily continually;
39 the one lamb thou dost prepare in the morning, and the second lamb thou dost prepare between the evenings;
40 and a tenth <FI>deal<Fi> of fine flour, mixed with beaten oil, a fourth part of a hin, and a libation, a fourth part of a hin, of wine, <FI>is<Fi> for the one lamb.
41 `And the second lamb thou dost prepare between the evenings; according to the present of the morning, and according to its libation, thou dost prepare for it, for sweet fragrance, a fire-offering, to Jehovah: --
42 a continual burnt-offering for your generations, at the opening of the tent of meeting, before Jehovah, whither I am met with you, to speak unto thee there,
43 and I have met there with the sons of Israel, and it hath been sanctified by My honour.
44 `And I have sanctified the tent of meeting, and the altar, and Aaron and his sons I sanctify for being priests to Me,
45 and I have tabernacled in the midst of the sons of Israel, and have become their God,
46 and they have known that I <FI>am<Fi> Jehovah their God, who hath brought them out of the land of Egypt, that I may tabernacle in their midst; I <FI>am<Fi> Jehovah their God.

Explain Like I'm 5

A long, long time ago, there was nothing at all - no earth, no sky, no animals, no people. It was all dark and empty. But God was there! God is so powerful that He can make anything just by speaking. So God said "Let there be light!" and BOOM! There was light everywhere! God saw that the light was beautiful and good. He called the light "day" and the darkness "night." This was the very first day when God started making our wonderful world!

Explain Like I'm 10

Before anything existed - no planets, stars, or life - God decided to create the universe. The earth started out as a dark, empty place covered with water. But God's Spirit was there, ready to bring order and beauty to everything. When God spoke and said "Let there be light," light immediately appeared because God's words have incredible power. God looked at the light and was pleased with what He had made. He organized time by separating light (day) from darkness (night), creating the first 24-hour period. This shows us that God is organized and purposeful in everything He does.

Genesis 1:1-5 establishes fundamental theological truths about God and creation. The Hebrew word "bara" (created) indicates creation from nothing (ex nihilo), demonstrating God's absolute sovereignty and power. The phrase "without form and void" (tohu wa-bohu) describes a state of chaos that God transforms into order. The Spirit of God "hovering" or "brooding" over the waters suggests active, caring involvement in creation. The creation of light before the sun (created on day 4) indicates that God Himself is the ultimate source of light and energy. The establishment of day and night creates the framework of time, showing that God operates within orderly patterns while transcending them. This passage refutes both atheistic materialism and pantheism, establishing that God is both transcendent (separate from creation) and immanent (actively involved in it).
