1 Thy judgments are a great deep:
2 O Jehovah, thou preservest man and beast.
3 How precious is thy lovingkindness, O God!
4 And the children of men take refuge under the shadow of thy wings.
5 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house;
6 And thou wilt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
7 For with thee is the fountain of life:
8 In thy light shall we see light.
9 Oh continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee,
10 And thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
11 Let not the foot of pride come against me,
12 And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.

1 OGod, the nations are come into thine inheritance: thy holy temple have they defiled; they have laid Jerusalem in heaps.
2 The dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be meat unto the fowl of the heavens, the flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth:
3 Their blood have they shed like water round about Jerusalem, and there was none to bury [them].
4 We are become a reproach to our neighbours, a mockery and a derision to them that are round about us.
5 How long, O Jehovah? wilt thou be angry for ever? Shall thy jealousy burn like fire?
6 Pour out thy fury upon the nations that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that call not upon thy name:
7 For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his habitation.
8 Remember not against us the iniquities of [our] forefathers; let thy tender mercies speedily come to meet us: for we are brought very low.
9 Help us, OGod of our salvation, because of the glory of thy name; and deliver us, and forgive our sins, for thy name's sake.
10 Wherefore should the nations say, Where is theirGod? Let the avenging of the blood of thy servants that is shed be known among the nations in our sight.
11 Let the groaning of the prisoner come before thee; according to the greatness of thine arm, preserve those that are appointed to die;
12 And render unto our neighbours, sevenfold into their bosom, their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord.
13 And we, thy people and the sheep of thy pasture, will give thanks unto thee for ever; we will shew forth thy praise from generation to generation.

2 Attend, O Shepherd of Israel, who guidest Joseph like a flock; thou who sittest upon the cherubs, manifest thyself;
3 before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasse, stir up thy power, and come to deliver us.
4 Turn us, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be delivered.
5 O Lord God of hosts, how long art thou angry with the prayer of thy servant?
6 Thou wilt feed us with bread of tears; and wilt cause us to drink tears by measure.
7 Thou hast made us a strife to our neighbours; and our enemies have mocked at us.
8 Turn us, O Lord God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. Pause.
9 Thou hast transplanted a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.
10 Thou madest a way before it, and didst cause its roots to strike, and the land was filled [with it].
11 Its shadow covered the mountains, and its shoots [equalled] the goodly cedars.
12 It sent forth its branches to the sea, and its shoots to the river.
13 Wherefore hast thou broken down its hedge, while all that pass by the way pluck it?
14 The boar out of the wood has laid it waste, and the wild beast has devoured it.
15 O God of hosts, turn, we pray thee: look on [us] from heaven, and behold and visit this vine;
16 and restore that which thy right hand has planted: and look on the son of man whom thou didst strengthen for thyself.
17 [It is] burnt with fire and dug up: they shall perish at the rebuke of thy presence.
18 Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, and upon the son of man whom thou didst strengthen for thyself.
19 So will we not depart from thee: thou shalt quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.
20 Turn us, O Lord God of hosts, and make thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

1 A Psalm by Asaph. God, the nations have come into your inheritance. They have defiled your holy temple. They have laid Jerusalem in heaps.
2 They have given the dead bodies of your servants to be food for the birds of the sky, the flesh of your saints to the animals of the earth.
3 They have shed their blood like water around Jerusalem. There was no one to bury them.
4 We have become a reproach to our neighbors, a scoffing and derision to those who are around us.
5 How long, LORD? Will you be angry forever? Will your jealousy burn like fire?
6 Pour out your wrath on the nations that don’t know you, on the kingdoms that don’t call on your name,
7 for they have devoured Jacob, and destroyed his homeland.
8 Don’t hold the iniquities of our forefathers against us. Let your tender mercies speedily meet us, for we are in desperate need.
9 Help us, God of our salvation, for the glory of your name. Deliver us, and forgive our sins, for your name’s sake.
10 Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?” Let it be known among the nations, before our eyes, that vengeance for your servants’ blood is being poured out.
11 Let the sighing of the prisoner come before you. According to the greatness of your power, preserve those who are sentenced to death.
12 Pay back to our neighbors seven times into their bosom their reproach with which they have reproached you, Lord.
13 So we, your people and sheep of your pasture, will give you thanks forever. We will praise you forever, to all generations.

A long, long time ago, there was nothing at all - no earth, no sky, no animals, no people. It was all dark and empty. But God was there! God is so powerful that He can make anything just by speaking. So God said "Let there be light!" and BOOM! There was light everywhere! God saw that the light was beautiful and good. He called the light "day" and the darkness "night." This was the very first day when God started making our wonderful world!

Explain Like I'm 10

Before anything existed - no planets, stars, or life - God decided to create the universe. The earth started out as a dark, empty place covered with water. But God's Spirit was there, ready to bring order and beauty to everything. When God spoke and said "Let there be light," light immediately appeared because God's words have incredible power. God looked at the light and was pleased with what He had made. He organized time by separating light (day) from darkness (night), creating the first 24-hour period. This shows us that God is organized and purposeful in everything He does.
