1 I shall never be moved.
2 Thou, Jehovah, of thy favor hadst made my mountain to stand strong:
3 Thou didst hide thy face; I was troubled.
4 I cried to thee, O Jehovah;
5 And unto Jehovah I made supplication:
6 What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit?
7 Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?
8 Hear, O Jehovah, and have mercy upon me:
9 Jehovah, be thou my helper.
10 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing;
11 Thou hast loosed my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;
12 To the end that
13 my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent.
14 O Jehovah my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

16 In thee, O Jehovah, do I take refuge;
17 Let me never be put to shame:
18 Deliver me in thy righteousness.
19 Bow down thine ear unto me; deliver me speedily:
20 Be thou to me a strong rock,
21 A house of defence to save me.
22 For thou art my rock and my fortress;
23 Therefore for thy name’s sake lead me and guide me.
24 Pluck me out of the net that they have laid privily for me;
25 For thou art my stronghold.
26 Into thy hand I commend my spirit:
27 Thou hast redeemed me, O Jehovah, thou God of truth.
28 I hate them that regard lying vanities;
29 But I trust in Jehovah.
30 I will be glad and rejoice in thy lovingkindness;
31 For thou hast seen my affliction:
32 Thou hast known my soul in adversities;
33 And thou hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy;
34 Thou hast set my feet in a large place.
35 Have mercy upon me, O Jehovah, for I am in distress:

2 As smoke is driven, thou wilt drive them away; as wax melteth before the fire, the wicked shall perish at the presence ofGod.
3 But the righteous shall rejoice: they shall exult beforeGod and be glad with joy.
4 Sing untoGod, sing forth his name; cast up a way for him that rideth in the deserts: his name is Jah; and rejoice before him.
5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, isGod in his holy habitation.
6 God maketh the solitary into families; those that were bound he bringeth out into prosperity: but the rebellious dwell in a parched [land].
7 OGod, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness — (Selah) —
8 The earth trembled, the heavens also dropped at the presence ofGod, yon Sinai, at the presence ofGod, theGod of Israel.
9 Thou, OGod, didst pour a plentiful rain upon thine inheritance, and when it was weary thou strengthenedst it.
10 Thy flock hath dwelt therein: thou hast prepared in thy goodness, for the afflicted, OGod!
11 The Lord gives the word: great the host of the publishers.
12 Kings of armies flee; they flee, and she that tarrieth at home divideth the spoil.
13 Though ye have lain among the sheepfolds, [ye shall be as] wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with green gold.
14 When the Almighty scattered kings in it, it became snow-white as Zalmon.
15 [As] mount Bashan is the mount ofGod, a many-peaked mountain, [as] mount Bashan.
16 Why do ye look with envy, ye many-peaked mountains, upon the mount thatGod hath desired for his abode? yea, Jehovah will dwell [there] for ever.
17 The chariots ofGod are twenty thousand, thousands upon thousands; the Lord is among them: it is a Sinai in holiness.
18 Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts in Man, and even [for] the rebellious, for the dwelling [there] of Jah Elohim.
19 Blessed be the Lord: day by day doth he load us [with good], theGod who is our salvation. Selah.
20 OurGod is theGod of salvation; and with Jehovah, the Lord, are the goings forth [even] from death.
21 VerilyGod will smite the head of his enemies, the hairy scalp of him that goeth on still in his trespasses.
22 The Lord said, I will bring again from Bashan, I will bring [them] again from the depth of the sea;
23 That thou mayest dip thy foot in blood: the tongue of thy dogs has its portion from enemies.
24 They have seen thy goings, OGod, the goings of myGod, my King, in the sanctuary.
25 The singers went before, the players on stringed instruments after, in the midst of maidens playing on tabrets.
26 In the congregations bless yeGod, the Lord, — [ye] from the fountain of Israel.
27 There is little Benjamin, their ruler; the princes of Judah, their company; the princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali.
28 ThyGod hath commanded thy strength: strengthen, OGod, that which thou hast wrought for us.
29 Because of thy temple at Jerusalem shall kings bring presents unto thee.
30 Rebuke the beast of the reeds, the assembly of the strong, with the calves of the peoples: [every one] submitteth himself with pieces of silver. Scatter the peoples that delight in war.
31 Great ones shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall quickly stretch out her hands untoGod.
32 Ye kingdoms of the earth, sing untoGod; sing psalms of the Lord, (Selah,)
33 Of him that rideth upon the heavens, the heavens which are of old: lo, he uttereth his voice, a mighty voice.
34 Ascribe ye strength untoGod: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds.
35 Terrible art thou, OGod, out of thy sanctuaries, — theGod of Israel! He it is that giveth strength and might unto the people. Blessed beGod!

2 Save me, O God; for the waters have come in to my soul.
3 I am stuck fast in deep mire, and there is no standing: I am come in to the depths of the sea, and a storm has overwhelmed me.
4 I am weary [of] crying, my throat has become hoarse; mine eyes have failed by my waiting on my God.
5 They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head: my enemies that persecute me unrighteously are strengthened: then I restored that which I took not away.
6 O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my transgressions are not hidden from thee.
7 Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord of hosts, be ashamed on my account: let not them that seek thee, be ashamed on my account, O God of Israel.
8 For I have suffered reproach for thy sake; shame has covered my face.
9 I became strange to my brethren, and a stranger to my mother's children.
10 For the zeal of thine house has eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.
11 And I bowed down my soul with fasting, and that was made my reproach.
12 And I put on sackcloth for my covering; and I became a proverb to them.
13 They that sit in the gate talked against me, and they that drank wine sang against me.
14 But I [will cry] to thee, O Lord, in my prayer; O God, it is a propitious time: in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.
15 Save me from the mire, that I stick not [in it]: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and from the deep waters.
16 Let not the waterflood drown me, nor let the deep swallow me up; neither let the well shut its mouth upon me.
17 Hear me, O Lord; for thy mercy is good: according to the multitude of thy compassions look upon me.
18 And turn not away thy face from thy servant; for I am afflicted: hear me speedily.
19 Draw nigh to my soul and redeem it: deliver me because of mine enemies.
20 For thou knowest my reproach, and my shame, and my confusion; all that afflict me are before thee.
21 My soul has waited for reproach and misery; and I waited for one to grieve with me, but there was none; and for one to comfort me, but I found none.
22 They gave [me] also gall for my food, and made me drink vinegar for my thirst.
23 Let their table before them be for a snare, and for a recompence, and for a stumbling-block.
24 Let their eyes be darkened that they should not see; and bow down their back continually.
25 Pour out thy wrath upon them, and let the fury of thine anger take hold on them.
26 Let their habitation be made desolate; and let there be no inhabitant in their tents:
27 because they persecuted him whom thou hast smitten; and they have added to the grief of my wounds.
28 Add iniquity to their iniquity; and let them not come into thy righteousness.
29 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and let them not be written with the righteous.
30 I am poor and sorrowful; but the salvation of thy countenance has helped me.
31 I will praise the name of my God with a song, I will magnify him with praise;
32 and [this] shall please God more than a young calf having horns and hoofs.
33 Let the poor see and rejoice; seek the Lord diligently, and ye shall live.
34 For the Lord hears the poor, and does not set at nought his fettered ones.
35 Let the heavens and the earth praise him, the sea, and all things moving in them.
36 For God will save Sion, and the cities of Judea shall be built; and [men] shall dwell there, and inherit it.
37 And the seed of his servants shall possess it, and they that love his name shall dwell therein.

9 You, God, sent a plentiful rain. You confirmed your inheritance when it was weary.

16 Why do you look in envy, you rugged mountains, at the mountain where God chooses to reign? Yes, the LORD will dwell there forever.
17 The chariots of God are tens of thousands and thousands of thousands. The Lord is among them, from Sinai, into the sanctuary.
18 You have ascended on high. You have led away captives. You have received gifts among people, yes, among the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell there.
19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burdens, even the God who is our salvation. Selah.
20 God is to us a God of deliverance. To GOD, the Lord, belongs escape from death.
21 But God will strike through the head of his enemies, the hairy scalp of such a one as still continues in his guiltiness.
22 The Lord said, “I will bring you again from Bashan, I will bring you again from the depths of the sea,
23 that you may crush them, dipping your foot in blood, that the tongues of your dogs may have their portion from your enemies.”
24 They have seen your processions, God, even the processions of my God, my King, into the sanctuary.

A long, long time ago, there was nothing at all - no earth, no sky, no animals, no people. It was all dark and empty. But God was there! God is so powerful that He can make anything just by speaking. So God said "Let there be light!" and BOOM! There was light everywhere! God saw that the light was beautiful and good. He called the light "day" and the darkness "night." This was the very first day when God started making our wonderful world!

Explain Like I'm 10

Before anything existed - no planets, stars, or life - God decided to create the universe. The earth started out as a dark, empty place covered with water. But God's Spirit was there, ready to bring order and beauty to everything. When God spoke and said "Let there be light," light immediately appeared because God's words have incredible power. God looked at the light and was pleased with what He had made. He organized time by separating light (day) from darkness (night), creating the first 24-hour period. This shows us that God is organized and purposeful in everything He does.
