1 Yea, from the horns of the wild-oxen thou hast answered me.
2 I will declare thy name unto my brethren:
3 In the midst of the assembly will I praise thee.
4 Ye that fear Jehovah, praise him;
5 All ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him;
6 And stand in awe of him, all ye the seed of Israel.
7 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted;
8 Neither hath he hid his face from him;
9 But when he cried unto him, he heard.
10 Of thee cometh my praise in the great assembly:
11 I will pay my vows before them that fear him.
12 The meek shall eat and be satisfied;
13 They shall praise Jehovah that seek after him:
14 Let your heart live for ever.
15 All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn unto Jehovah;
16 And all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.
17 For the kingdom is Jehovah’s;
18 And he is the ruler over the nations.
19 All the fat ones of the earth shall eat and worship:
20 All they that go down to the dust shall bow before him,

2 Both men of low and men of high degree, rich and poor alike.
3 My mouth shall speak wisdom, and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding:
4 I will incline mine ear to a parable, I will open my riddle upon the harp.
5 Wherefore should I fear in the days of adversity, [when] the iniquity of my supplanters encompasseth me? —
6 They depend upon their wealth, and boast themselves in the abundance of their riches. ...
7 None can by any means redeem his brother, nor give toGod a ransom for him,
8 (For the redemption of their soul is costly, and must be given up for ever,)
9 That he should still live perpetually, [and] not see corruption.
10 For he seeth that wise men die; all alike, the fool and the brutish perish, and they leave their wealth to others.
11 Their inward thought is, that their houses are for ever, their dwelling-places from generation to generation: they call the lands after their own names.
12 Nevertheless, man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.
13 This their way is their folly, yet they that come after them delight in their sayings. Selah.
14 Like sheep are they laid in Sheol: Death feedeth on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their comeliness shall be for Sheol to consume, that there be no habitation for them.
15 ButGod will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol: for he will receive me. Selah.
16 Be not afraid when a man becometh rich, when the glory of his house is increased:
17 For when he dieth, he shall carry nothing away; his glory shall not descend after him.
18 Though he blessed his soul in his lifetime, — and men will praise thee when thou doest well to thyself, —
19 It shall go to the generation of his fathers: they shall never see light.
20 Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.

1 A Psalm for Asaph. The God of gods, the Lord, has spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun to the going down [thereof].
2 Out of Sion [comes] the excellence of his beauty.
3 God, our God, shall come manifestly, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall be kindled before him, and round about him there shall be a very great tempest.
4 He shall summon the heaven above, and the earth, that he may judge his people.
5 Assemble ye his saints to him, those that have engaged in a covenant with him upon sacrifices.
6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge. Pause.
7 Hear, my people, and I will speak to thee, O Israel: and I will testify to thee: I am God, thy God.
8 I will not reprove thee on account of thy sacrifices; for thy whole-burnt-offerings are before me continually.
9 I will take no bullocks out of thine house, nor he-goats out of thy flocks.
10 For all the wild beasts of the thicket are mine, the cattle on the mountains, and oxen.
11 I know all the birds of the sky; and the beauty of the field is mine.
12 If I should be hungry, I will not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness of it.
13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?
14 Offer to God the sacrifice of praise; and pay thy vows to the Most High.
15 And call upon me in the day of affliction; and I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. Pause.
16 But to the sinner God has said, Why dost thou declare my ordinances, and take up my covenant in thy mouth?
17 Whereas thou hast hated instruction, and hast cast my words behind [thee].
18 If thou sawest a thief, thou rannest along with him, and hast cast in thy lot with adulterers.
19 Thy mouth has multiplied wickedness, and thy tongue has framed deceit.
20 Thou didst sit and speak against thy brother, and didst scandalise thy mother's son.
21 These things thou didst, and I kept silence: thou thoughtest wickedly that I should be like thee; [but] I will reprove thee, and set [thine offences] before thee.
22 Now consider these things, ye that forget God, lest he rend [you], and there be no deliverer.
23 The sacrifice of praise will glorify me: and that is the way wherein I will shew to him the salvation of God.

2 both low and high, rich and poor together.
3 My mouth will speak words of wisdom. My heart will utter understanding.

5 Why should I fear in the days of evil, when iniquity at my heels surrounds me?
6 Those who trust in their wealth, and boast in the multitude of their riches—

8 For the redemption of their life is costly, no payment is ever enough,
9 that he should live on forever, that he should not see corruption.
10 For he sees that wise men die; likewise the fool and the senseless perish, and leave their wealth to others.
11 Their inward thought is that their houses will endure forever, and their dwelling places to all generations. They name their lands after themselves.
12 But man, despite his riches, doesn’t endure. He is like the animals that perish.
13 This is the destiny of those who are foolish, and of those who approve their sayings. Selah.
14 They are appointed as a flock for Sheol. Death shall be their shepherd. The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning. Their beauty shall decay in Sheol, far from their mansion.
15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol, for he will receive me. Selah.
16 Don’t be afraid when a man is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;
17 for when he dies he will carry nothing away. His glory won’t descend after him.
18 Though while he lived he blessed his soul— and men praise you when you do well for yourself—
19 he shall go to the generation of his fathers. They shall never see the light.

Explain Like I'm 5

A long, long time ago, there was nothing at all - no earth, no sky, no animals, no people. It was all dark and empty. But God was there! God is so powerful that He can make anything just by speaking. So God said "Let there be light!" and BOOM! There was light everywhere! God saw that the light was beautiful and good. He called the light "day" and the darkness "night." This was the very first day when God started making our wonderful world!

Explain Like I'm 10

Before anything existed - no planets, stars, or life - God decided to create the universe. The earth started out as a dark, empty place covered with water. But God's Spirit was there, ready to bring order and beauty to everything. When God spoke and said "Let there be light," light immediately appeared because God's words have incredible power. God looked at the light and was pleased with what He had made. He organized time by separating light (day) from darkness (night), creating the first 24-hour period. This shows us that God is organized and purposeful in everything He does.
