1 O thou that savest by thy right hand them that take refuge
2 in thee
3 From those that rise up
4 against them.
5 Keep me as the apple of the eye;
6 Hide me under the shadow of thy wings,
7 From the wicked that oppress me,
8 My deadly enemies, that compass me about.
9 They are inclosed in their own fat:
10 With their mouth they speak proudly.
11 They have now compassed us in our steps;
12 They set their eyes to cast
13 us down to the earth.
14 He is like a lion that is greedy of his prey,
15 And as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.
16 Arise, O Jehovah,
17 Confront him, cast him down:
18 Deliver my soul from the wicked by thy sword;
19 From men by thy hand, O Jehovah,
20 From men of the world, whose portion is in
21 this life,
22 And whose belly thou fillest with thy treasure:

1 Exult, ye righteous, in Jehovah: praise is comely for the upright.
2 Give thanks unto Jehovah with the harp; sing psalms unto him with the ten-stringed lute.
3 Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud sound.
4 For the word of Jehovah is right, and all his work is in faithfulness.
5 He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the loving-kindness of Jehovah.
6 By the word of Jehovah were the heavens made, and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as a heap; he layeth up the deeps in storehouses.
8 Let all the earth fear Jehovah; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
9 For he spoke, and it was [done]; he commanded, and it stood fast.
10 Jehovah frustrateth the counsel of the nations; he maketh the thoughts of the peoples of none effect.
11 The counsel of Jehovah standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation.
12 Blessed is the nation whoseGod is Jehovah, the people that he hath chosen for his inheritance!
13 Jehovah looketh from the heavens; he beholdeth all the sons of men:
14 From the place of his habitation he looketh forth upon all the inhabitants of the earth;
15 He who fashioneth the hearts of them all, who considereth all their works.
16 The king is not saved by the multitude of [his] forces; a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
17 The horse is a vain thing for safety; neither doth he deliver by his great power.
18 Behold, the eye of Jehovah is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his loving-kindness,
19 To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
20 Our soul waiteth for Jehovah: he is our help and our shield.
21 For in him shall our heart rejoice, because we have confided in his holy name.
22 Let thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, be upon us, according as we have hoped in thee.

1 [A Psalm] of David, when he changed his countenance before Abimelech; and he let him go, and he departed.
2 I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall be continually in my mouth.
3 My soul shall boast herself in the Lord: let the meek hear, and rejoice.
4 Magnify ye the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.
5 I sought the Lord diligently, and he hearkened to me, and delivered me from all my sojournings.
6 Draw near to him, and be enlightened: and your faces shall not [by any means] be ashamed.
7 This poor man cried, and the Lord hearkened to him, and delivered him out of all his afflictions.
8 The angel of the Lord will encamp round about them that fear him, and will deliver them.
9 Taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man who hopes in him.
10 Fear the Lord, all ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
11 The rich have become poor and hungry: but they that seek the Lord diligently shall not want any good thing. Pause.
12 Come, ye children, hear me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
13 What man is there that desires life, loving to see good days?
14 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
15 Turn away from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
16 The eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears [are open] to their prayer:
17 but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to destroy their memorial from the earth. The righteous cried, and the Lord hearkened to them,
18 and delivered them out of all their afflictions.
19 The Lord is near to them that are of a contrite heart; and will save the lowly in spirit.
20 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but out of them all the Lord will deliver them.
21 He keeps all their bones: not one of them shall be broken.
22 The death of sinners is evil: and they that hate righteousness will go wrong.
23 The Lord will redeem the souls of his servants: and none of those that hope in him shall go wrong.

20 Our soul has waited for the LORD. He is our help and our shield.

Explain Like I'm 5

A long, long time ago, there was nothing at all - no earth, no sky, no animals, no people. It was all dark and empty. But God was there! God is so powerful that He can make anything just by speaking. So God said "Let there be light!" and BOOM! There was light everywhere! God saw that the light was beautiful and good. He called the light "day" and the darkness "night." This was the very first day when God started making our wonderful world!

Explain Like I'm 10

Before anything existed - no planets, stars, or life - God decided to create the universe. The earth started out as a dark, empty place covered with water. But God's Spirit was there, ready to bring order and beauty to everything. When God spoke and said "Let there be light," light immediately appeared because God's words have incredible power. God looked at the light and was pleased with what He had made. He organized time by separating light (day) from darkness (night), creating the first 24-hour period. This shows us that God is organized and purposeful in everything He does.
